"I met Lou and he got the job done at a very reasonable price. I called other companies such as 'Pet Boundaries' and 'Invisible Fence' and they were both almost double the price for practically the same system. I felt they were trying to rip me off. Lou however was the only reasonable priced dog fence installer in my opinion. Lou was also knowledgeable about pets in general and especially the product. When comparing Dog Fence Rehab's services to other companies such as Pet Boundary, it was exactly the same. Installed and rechargeable dog collars etc., invisible fence, and lessons for your pets included. I just couldn't figure out why other companies such as Invisible Fence wanted to charge so much more? They couldn't even tell me why when I asked. If you want a good product that works for a reasonable price I would recommend ' Dog Fence Rehab'."

"We got in touch with Tom when we first bought our house and he did a survey and gave us a very accurate estimate.  When we were finally ready to move ahead with our fence, he got done almost a week earlier than planned.  His team was punctual and efficient, a real pleasure to work with.  Before we paid in full, Tom came back to check on the work and ensure that we were satisified.  Would definitely recommend.

"Very happy with Beiztell.  They provide a quote promptly after contact and stuck to it. They were in and out in one day to remove the old fence and replace with the hew fence.  When I arrived home I would never have known there were workers in my yard - they cleaned up so well, and didn't make a mess of the grass. The fence looks fabulous - time will tell if the wood wears well, but it is treated pine and looks good. The pool pump fence was a last minute addition to the job and they did a great job as they had to work around plumbing and electrical and slopes. During the installation they kept my husband informed and made to sure to ask questions if there were any doubts positioning, etc. Overall we are really happy with the work and with the people at Beiztell.  Everyone was professional and polite. They were prompt in responding to questions and delivered on the date they said that they would."

"Our original contractor dropped off of the Facebook of the Earth, leaving us with mostly finished renovation and the new deck I started. I found 5thGen on Thumbtack and Christian was the most responsive and knowledgeable of the respondents to my search for fencing contractors. His team built me a gorgeous fenced-in urban oasis and the double lattice was his idea and custome made for our space. I’m attaching photos. He and his team then proceeded to repair our previous contractor’s errors (like installing new kitchen cabinets upside-down... really!) and did amaze my custome drywall work and mounding work. They even moved our challenger and you would never know the base had been relocated looking at the ceiling. Great great job, reliable and responsive on multiple projects for us since. Our relationship with 5thGen started at the end of 2015 and continues to date."

"Borderline was highly recommended by the fence installer. I had some problems getting the right contact info, but once I did Brennan was extremely helpful. Borderline easily beat the other surveyor quotes. Borderline is in demand and we had to wait more than a week for an opening. Borderline kept me informed, came as promised, and completed the job quickly and professionally."

"Mr. Murphy arrived promptly and went through the house with a "fine tooth comb"! He obviously has tremedous knowledge and carries all the tools necessary to investigate every corner of the residence, from the attic to the crawl space. We were able to proceed with the purchase of our home knowing there were only a few very minor issues to deal with. We were also very impressed with his appraisal value for our home. It came within dollars of the bank's appraisal. Mr. Murphy is knowledgeable, efficient and helpful. We are most pleased with his service.

Animal Fencing FAQs, answered by experts

In DC, animal removal projects are most common in spring and fall, particularly in neighborhoods near Rock Creek Park or those with older housing stock. While exact numbers vary, it’s not unusual for homeowners to schedule annual inspections or follow-up visits after an incident. Proactive checks are especially important in row houses or areas with frequent wildlife sightings to help prevent recurring issues.

Helpful?

In Washington, the humid subtropical climate leads to distinct animal removal challenges throughout the year. Spring and fall see increased wildlife activity as animals seek shelter or breeding sites, while heavy rain can drive rodents indoors. Hot summers often push bats and squirrels into attics for cooler refuge. Because mild winters allow some pests to remain active, homeowners should stay vigilant year-round for potential intrusions.

Hot summers often push bats and squirrels into attics for cooler refuge. Because mild winters allow some pests to remain active, homeowners should stay vigilant year-round for potential intrusions.

Helpful?

In Washington, homeowners can choose from wildlife control operators who specialize in humane removal of raccoons, squirrels, or bats; pest control companies that focus on rodents and insects; and specialists who handle birds or snakes. Emergency animal removal services are also available for urgent situations. Contractors in Washington often have experience with historic homes and unique urban wildlife challenges.

Helpful?

In DC, safety during animal removal involves wearing gloves, masks, and eye protection to guard against diseases like rabies or histoplasmosis. Always ventilate confined spaces and use ladders cautiously, especially in older row houses with tricky access points. If you share walls or yards with neighbors, coordinate efforts to reduce the risk of animals moving between properties and to help prevent accidental exposure or injury during removal.

Helpful?

In Washington, homeowners often encounter unexpected costs related to repairing insulation, drywall, or roofing after animals have gained entry. Additional expenses can come from thorough cleanup and sanitization, especially when dealing with droppings or strong odors. Multiple visits may be needed to fully exclude persistent wildlife. For those in historic properties, extra care and approved materials can add complexity to the animal removal process.
