Providing sustainable remodel design solutions by sourcing items from local small businesses, and repurposing furniture to provide unique design alternatives. We have a community of local makers who are exceptional at their craft. We partner with them to build pieces designed for your home, without relying on big box stores for materials. We have a supply of finishings, and are capable of sourcing nearly any item through our ethical sourcing practices. We manage the design, space planning, and sourcing of finish materials for remodels. Approach to Design: I try to imagine that there isn’t already a playbook in place in terms of what function each piece serves. I like to look at a space to understand the need, and come up with solutions which make sense functionally, while aligning that with the aesthetic goals. Walking into a bathroom or kitchen tells me storage is needed, but what that storage solution looks like does not have limitations. My unique design solutions are often pulled from the years I lived in Europe. I was able to take home ideas I hadn't yet seen locally, and bring them to life in unexpected spaces.

"Shauna is amazing to work with. You know those people that really, really listen to what you want? She's one of those people. She added so much creativity to designs that I would have never even thought about. She has such a unique and cool vibe and style. I love that she's sustainable and sourcing locally. Makes me feel good, like my money is going to locals instead of a big biz somewhere. She's super well connected with her community."

I have been remodeling for over 5 years. Ive worked on many crews and the common theme ive seen that I am changing is a lot of contractors will say that work is "good enough". Well, good enough doesnt do it for me and it does not meet my standards. I want great work and happy customers.

Framing, cabinets, tile, drywall and paint. We have more than 100 years of experience. We are an owner operated remodeling company.

"I hired them a few years ago for a plaster job and it went well so I hired them recently for a plaster and paint job. The 2nd project did not go well..especially for the painting. Overall, the surfaces look cheap- nothing like the first job. I’ve also had to re-paint and clean splatter for at least 20 separate areas. Unfortunately, there are countless areas with bubbles and drips that I cannot fix. :( They also left about 5/6 full gigantic garbage bags in the room. If you want quality work done, I wouldn’t hire. If you want speedy & shoddy work done, then they’re great. He quoted me under 5k when he came to look at it, and it ended up being over 6k plus paint."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

An alcove tub fits in an alcove in your bathroom, against three walls. Drop-in tubs, on the other hand, are dropped into an enclosure or frame. You can put this frame anywhere in a bathroom as long as it fits. Since the frame is custom-built, drop-in tubs come in more design options and a wider range of materials.

Remodeling a bathroom is a big project, and some of the first steps will depend on what parts of the bathroom you are changing and what elements will remain the same. For any project, planning, designing, buying materials, and demolishing are the first things to do during a bathroom remodel.

The toilet should rest 10, 12, or 14 inches from the back wall. As for other clearances, 15 inches is the minimum distance from the flange to any side wall or nearby fixture, including the shower, tub, and sink. Modern codes also require at least 24 inches of clear space in front of the toilet.

Home renovation is often less expensive during a recession. Contractors may be willing to give you a deal on labor costs because they’re looking for more work during slow economic times. However, waiting to do a necessary home remodeling project while trying to predict the ebbs and flows of the national economy is overthinking the timing of the project. It’s easier to focus on determining when is the best time of the year to remodel.

In some cases, people are getting rid of bathtubs because of the floor space they gain after removal. Showers can make more efficient use of bathroom space. In some cases, people get rid of tubs for accessibility purposes. It can be difficult for some individuals to step into and out of a tub. For these people, a shower with no lip or step is safer and easier to use than a tub.
