"Hired Leo's to cut down a bunch of medium sized trees. They came out a few days after the quote. Got everything cut down, stumps grind, hauled away the wood all in a couple hours. They were easy to work with, careful, and cleaned up the area sufficiently. Prices were very competitive and I hope to have them cut down more trees for us in the future."

"Alonso Landscaping was the only company to respond promptly to my inquiry. Their quote was reasonable and I chose them to replace a deteriorating retaining wall. They showed up when promised and the job took two days. I was very impressed with the employee they sent over, Armando. He was considerate, a very hard worker and explained everything about what he was doing. He was thorough and the wall looks amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend them to you.   • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

Since overwatering can harm mature trees just as much as a lack of water, it’s important to know the signs of an overwatered tree. If your tree’s leaves are yellowing, wilting, or dropping leaves, it’s likely that you’re overwatering. Other common signs include rotting, fungi, soggy soil, soft or peeling bark, falling leaves, and brittle roots. 

If you realize that you’ve been overwatering your mature tree, stop watering and give the soil time to dry out. Then moving forward, increase time between watering sessions. 

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. First, their root ball doesn’t need to be as large as a “true” tree, which makes them a bit easier to dig up and move around. Second, they struggle more with taking root and staying upright in a new location, so it’s important to give them extra support when staking. 

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results.
