I highly recommend H&H Arborists. We have used them several times over the years. Bill Haessig is a true professional and his team does excellent work. Our projects have included full tree removal, branch pruning and stump grinding. As a certified arborist, Bill provided an assessment on the health of our trees when we first purchased our home in Madison. Bill is always quick to respond and offers competitive pricing. Their work is fast and diligent. I could not recommend them more.

H & H, has removed two damaged trees from our property. The trees were removed, stumps ground and every bit a debris was cleaned up. One large tree was removed from a precarious position on the garage roof after a storm damaged the tree. H & H is currently treating 2 Ash trees for Emerald Ash Borer. H&H are Professional Arborists. I wouldn't ask any other company to help us with our trees.

Bill the owner responds immediately to all queries and messages and is always courteous and professional, friendly and honest. His crew are the same way--totally professional and friendly and they do their work carefully and thoroughly. Plus they're just nice guys. I'm happy to recommend them to anyone. In my case, they had to remove a dying birch from a crowded space. They had to avoid our house, the neighbor's newly planted tree, our fairly delicate landscape plantings and trees, our yard light, and several overhead wires. And the tree was falling apart, so they had to be very careful. They used a bucket truck and were very careful in placing it and using it. They cleaned up the site and left almost no trace of their work. Excellent pros!

We were put on the schedule within 3 days of giving them the go ahead. Work was done to our satisfaction. Following the tree trimming we did have a question. Bill came to our house to inspect the tree and answer the question to our satisfaction. We've used them in the past to remove two large trees leaning over our house. We have found their prices better than some of the other esitmates we got and their professionalism is outstanding.

Contacted two arborists for quotes on job. The one we did not choose recommended very extensive work for inflated price. Bill Haessig with Hand H visited 8/6 and seemed very knowledgeable and reasonable, willing to customize the plan, good at explaining different options. Quote he provided 8/15 was reasonable and included options. Work was done 8/29 by a multi-person team that was efficient and competent. Work was done satisfactorily. Job site was adequately cleaned of debris afterward.

Arrived on time and did a good job of taking the trees down being careful to not damage the fences and structures around the trees. Only complaint is that when some of the green branches that were touching the house were taken off a trimmed tree it revealed many dead branches that were not removed. Apparently, if it's not on their written contract list it doesn't get done. We would have liked for them to have pointed these out so we could have added them for removal when they were here. I look out the window now only to see these dead branches. If they were already up in the tree how hard would it have been to cut these smaller dead branches down? Neighbors came over after they had left and pointed out more dead one's that were now showing on their side. We are having a different company come and remove them. Bottom line....they did a good job BUT only if it is on their list so be sure you are home to monitor the work.

From the beginning the process went very well. Bill Haessig called and advised us he would be out to look at the job. This allowed us to be there so that he could understand what we wanted done and he could advise us of what options we had. He quoted the job via e-mail in two days and we were able to respond via e-mail so that he could get the job scheduled. He advised via e-mail that he had written a job order and would advise us of the start date even though we really didn't need to be there. He advised us of the start date and H and H was there when he said they would be.
All the equipment was there and the job was done neatly and professionally. The crew doing the job were careful not to drop any of the cuttings in our flower beds, or the neighbors either. The stump grinding process leaves quite a bit of chips and dust. When they left there was nothing to indicate that a tree was ever there. They did a fine job of clean-up.

New to the area and I needed to find the usual services - doctor, dentist, vet, etc. but also purchased a property that needs some specific contractors - like an arborist. So I decided to join Angie's List to help with the search. I found Hand H Arborists and liked what I read so I contacted them to see about an estimate. Bill arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. We walked the site and talked about needs, wants, and price. I decided to start with just the building site and not worry about the trees on the fringe of the property. Bill was willing to work with me and promptly sent me an estimate for the deadwooding, trimming/pruning of trees and removal of trees. It was broken down by specific tree so I could pick and choose what the budget would allow. I signed the agreement and made the appointment for Tuesday, September 18 to deadwood/trim thirteen trees and remove one tree for the cost of $2,236.60. Bill and his crew were prompt. Bill wasn't staying but wanted to show his crew the property and the work that was being done. The crew were professional and hardworking. They completed the job just as contracted and we're very happy. I just received the bill and it was for $1,780.31 (a little below the estimate!) I highly recommend Hand H Arborists and will definitely will contract them again for future work.

After a storm, we had a very large limb fall from our front yard honey locust. The limb fell onto my flower bed, missed the house by only about a foot, and was almost in the drive way. We were having a party that weekend and desperately needed the limb removed. I had called several different companies trying to find someone who could remove the limb before the weekend (the limb fell on Tuesday). Bill Haessig and his group were able to remove the limb that Friday. We had also wanted the tree trimmed and, since they did such a good job with the fallen limb removal, we hired them to trim the front yard honey locust and crab-apple trees. Bill came out early in the morning to meet with us about exactly what we wanted done and gave us a fair estimate. Within 3 weeks, H and H Arborists was at our place for the trimming. When we met with Bill, we had decided to remove a couple of limbs. After the work was done, one of the limbs was trimmed but not removed. Bill promptly had his team back out to remove this limb. Once the whole tree was trimmed, we noticed another small branch lower down which seemed out of place. Bill came out personally to look at the limb, then agreed it was out of place and again had his team out to remove this additional branch. I was SO happy with the work and the professionalism of this company! They made sure we understood what was being done and that we were completely happy with the work. I will definitely use them again and would HIGHLY recommend H and H Arborists for any work you need done!

They were very professional and did everything on time. The turnaround was very good. They just did a fine job. I am right by a school here so people park their cars on the street. I had a huge soft maple on my front yard that they trimmed. Those people because of the car sitting there they did not take down one little limb because they did not want to damage the vehicle and in case something went wrong. So they came back later in the day before going home to take care of the limb after the car left. I thought it was really super on their part to do that. The price was very reasonable. They did a beautiful job trimming trees. They came when they were supposed to come. They did everything in order to take care of the tree. They had a left over and had to get to the heights. They had the equipment to accomplish that job.

We had birch trees trimmed and we also had oaks but you can only trim oaks a certain times of the year. They came back in the spring to trim the oaks. They were very good about coming back at the right time. They did a good job, we were very impressed with them, and they cleaned everything up. I will definitely use them again.

Called for a quote and Bill was able to come out promptly and give us one. Price was very competitive compared to others we got. Bill came out a second time before we accepted the quote to answer some additional questions. He was always very responsive and flexible and able to accommodate our schedules. The day of the work, everything went very smoothly. The workers were very professional and knowledgeable and checked with us to make sure they were meeting our expectations. They also did a fantastic job of clean-up. Overall a very wonderful experience.

The project was carried out very well. He gave a very competitive estimate within about two days of when I first inquired. When I told him a bit later that the tree was progressing rapidly in the falling-over process (due to recent heavy rains), he managed to fit it into his schedule within a week. The removal was done quickly and with minimal damage to nearby lawn, etc. All substantial residue was taken away. The flower garden surrounding the challenging tree looked awful that day, but two weeks later it is recovering nicely--apparently no long term damage done.

He provided thorough information on how to remove some oak trees to reduce likelihood of oak wilt; and examined some older large trees and explained why he considered them to be sound despite some cosmetic issues; quoted his daily rates and estimated total cost for some tree removal work (we ended up removing the trees ourselves); and he admitted he wasn't an expert on another subject of pine tree farming and correctly declined to provide an opinion on that subject. Met us at the site on-time, was pleasant and professional and generous with his information, from which I took notes. Promptly billed us for a reasonable amount for his consulting services.

Very well. Bill came and did the estimate, told us what he planned. The work done was exactly as expected and he showed me exactly the trimming he did and why he did it that way before he packed up and left. In addition, he and his staff are very pleasant people. We have used Hand H about four times and this has always been our experience.
