"Layne Brandt and Dillon Sears arrived in a pickup pulling an enormous flat bed! They filled that flat bed with leaves, old mulch, weeds, yard debris to the top, and we were amazed that all of it came from our yard! They artistically trimmed several of my Boxwoods, Bridal Wreath, and tamed several overgrown shrubs. They listened to what we wanted them to accomplish, and then they did it all in grand style! These are two young men, in their second year of business, who are providing stellar service! We are having them add mulch later this week! They are a fine and responsible pair to work with! They are a pleasure to have around and we know that they will be very successful in their TQ All Season Service, LLC ventures! Give them a try!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Cory and his crew called back, came by and cleaned up 2 medium sized stumps 21” and 17” diameter. Both stumps were sticking up like giant sore thumbs. Now my yard has nice flat spots and ready for grass seed . He’s very communicative and professional, and oh so reasonably priced. I’m keeping his business card bc when I need him next, Schwake will be the first one I call. I highly recommend him for yard cleanup, tree care, and storm damage removal."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Planting trees far enough from your foundation will protect your home from root damage, but if you’re dealing with existing trees, you can still guard against roots. Root barriers form a physical boundary that will prevent roots from encroaching on your foundation and can help save you from expensive foundation repair costs.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

Sudden oak death and oak wilt are different diseases. Oak wilt first shows up in tree leaves while sudden oak death affects the branches and trunk. However, as symptoms in both can overlap, it’s best to consult a professional arborist tree expert for a proper diagnosis and development of a treatment plan.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

If you ever want to see the literal fruits of your labor, you’ll need to prune your peach trees. Without pruning, the trees may not grow or bear fruit since the nutrients will be divided among too many offshoots to provide any with enough energy to produce the peaches. Plus, if parts of the peach tree become diseased or pest-ridden, pruning can nip those problems in the bud.
