Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. I’m a pretty tough judge when it comes to getting work done on my house, and Larry and his guys did an impeccable job. We have a 100 year old home that’s been neglected by previous owners. We needed scraping, sanding, paint, caulk, wood replaced, windows replaced, and clever solutions to the various misdeeds from sloppy past contractors. There wasn’t a single idea or question Larry couldn’t handle, in fact everything we threw at him he improved. No headaches, no delays, an absolute dream for a homeowner. Larry was on site every day, his guys worked 6 days a week, always on time and always on task. It was seriously impressive. Additionally Larry really cares about his team and that in turn is reflected by them. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed the entire time. I’ve had some rough goes with contractors in the past and this was truly a healing experience. If you are lucky enough to get a chance to work with him, take it, and be extremely grateful you found someone who cares about his work as much as your care about your house. Thanks again Larry

  • Side-Pro Inc
    5.0
I selected Side-Pro because they were the most professional, direct and honest of the contractors I interviewed. The gentleman who reviewed my home and the work that needed to be done used no pushy sales tactics, came up with quotes for several different options and price tiers, and was actually informed and experienced regarding the work to be done. This standard held for every person I met from their staff, from the office to the on-site contractors. Everyone was responsive, friendly and very helpful. My house was completely sided in Hardie Plank, fully up to Hardie's specifications, replacing some aging LP recalled planking and T1-11, along with correcting several emerging structural issues, including a completely rotten corner. The planks are straight, the seams perfect. The paint crew was incredibly fast and had the whole house done in a day, even coating all around, and only a few touchups found in the final walk-through. The only issue that arose with the project was due to a miscommunication between two crews trading off the siding project, which Duane immediately set about correcting without my even having to ask, let alone having to argue with them. My home looks fantastic, and I can't recommend them highly enough

  • PERDUE BUILDERS & SUPPLY INC
    5.0
It was a pleasure working with Perdue Builders from quotation to completion! My project included new windows, siding, painting, decks, porches, and stairs. Everything they said they would do they did. I am a retired contractor with 30 years in the business and can attest to the fact that their work is high quality with great attention to detail. The site was kept clean and orderly throughout the project. The crew was great to work with, professional, and communicated well with me. I highly recommend Perdue Builders

What does it cost to side a house?

Average prices for installing siding on a house from state to state range from $2,900 to $44,000. That’s a big range because so many components affect the cost of house siding installation projects. You can’t really get a correct estimate without considering all that’s involved.

Square footage matters when it comes to the cost of installing siding onto a house. The larger your house’s outside surface area—or the larger the measurements of the part to have siding installed—the more time and materials the project requires, which inflates the cost.

Also, the type of siding plays a role in overall cost. Typical siding made of vinyl is the cheapest and averages $2 to $3 per square foot. Siding made from aluminum costs are close, averaging $3 to $4 per square foot.

Stone and brick veneer are some of the priciest materials. For the latter, you’ll pay, on average, $3 to $10 per square foot, and the former costs $8 to $11 per square foot.

Additional labor required to put up siding influences the cost of your project, too. If the siding contractor has to repair or replace decaying boards or other infrastructure first, the costs tend to rise.

As you can see, siding costs are complicated. Talking to a professional in your area—or multiple professionals—to get estimates on your job is the optimal way to get a feel for how much siding for your house may cost.

Take note of these suggestions when hiring a local siding contractor

Getting a trained contractor is important for homeowners who need siding installed. A great professional can almost guarantee you see great outcomes from your siding project. Before you sign on the dotted line with a community siding professional, make sure to factor in the things below.

  • Look at examples of finished work, and ask for proof that the community siding company has completed work like your assignment in the past. Ask for a work portfolio or review any image gallery on the business’s online profile.
  • Request testimonials. Ask future contractors if they will provide testimonials from prior clients. This helps you understand how satisfied others are with the contractor’s service.
  • Review all the small print. Anything you agree to with the contractor should be in print before you sign up. If a contractor seems hesitant to put details in print, that can be a red flag that you should pick some other siding contractor.
