Larry Palmer has been in the business for many years for a reason, quality and professionalism. Both are almost non-existent these days in the world of contractors. Larry coordinated his teams to work fast and efficiently during the middle of the winter to replace over 50 windows and 6 skylights in our newly purchased home. They did it in just a couple days, including cleaning the inside and outside so they were perfect. These were not normal windows either, we bought a house with wood framed windows and wanted to preserve the aesthetic beauty of the frames and hardware, both which are irreplaceable these days with the current quality. Larry made it happen! We bought a home knowing it needed some TLC and we could not have kept the integrity of the home without the integrity of Larry and his team. We will be using them for future home renovation projects from now on, he managed the project like a true master. I've had other home projects that have taken over 6 months and a lot of headaches on my part, in hindsight, I would have paid more to have better quality, punctuality and not had to project manage myself. Book early with Larry as they are very busy

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. I’m a pretty tough judge when it comes to getting work done on my house, and Larry and his guys did an impeccable job. We have a 100 year old home that’s been neglected by previous owners. We needed scraping, sanding, paint, caulk, wood replaced, windows replaced, and clever solutions to the various misdeeds from sloppy past contractors. There wasn’t a single idea or question Larry couldn’t handle, in fact everything we threw at him he improved. No headaches, no delays, an absolute dream for a homeowner. Larry was on site every day, his guys worked 6 days a week, always on time and always on task. It was seriously impressive. Additionally Larry really cares about his team and that in turn is reflected by them. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed the entire time. I’ve had some rough goes with contractors in the past and this was truly a healing experience. If you are lucky enough to get a chance to work with him, take it, and be extremely grateful you found someone who cares about his work as much as your care about your house. Thanks again Larry

We moved to Seattle ten years ago and purchased what was originally a two story brick Tudor built in 1924. It has since been subject to two updates — one in the early 1960s and a more substantial change (including the addition of a third story patio and loft) in the mid 2000s. It had been about 15 years since the exterior had last been renewed. The brick, which covered about 70 percent of the house, appeared to be in great shape but the house had a wide variety of secondary surfaces all requiring significant work. There were concrete blocks and poured concrete surfaces that looked extremely run-down. We had a very large iron entry gate leading to the back yard as well as an iron “Juliette Balcony” extending from the loft and both were in significant need of restoration. Paint was peeling from the wood trim and in several places the trim was starting to rot. The backyard fence consisted of two entirely different wood materials, several stone surfaces were in need of patching and restoration, and the doorframe leading from the third floor patio was rotting and had to be re-built. These were just a few of the issues. Larry came out to inspect things last summer. It was immediately evident that this would be a contractor experience unlike others that I have had. The first thing I observed was his enthusiasm. He seemed to love our house notwithstanding its apparent defects and informed me that he wanted to restore it to its maximum potential. Larry recognized the wide variety of building materials that had been used on the house and patiently recommended alternative treatments to restore and enhance those materials. His knowledge and enthusiasm blew me away and we agreed to do the project this summer. Larry’s crew, consisting of Rufino, Manuel, Rudy, and Carlos, was absolutely wonderful. Rufino, who served as the master carpenter, has been with Larry for over two decades. Manuel, Carlos, and Rudy are brothers and have been with Larry for over eight years. How often do you find a crew that has worked with each other that long? They were a pleasure to have around and their work was exemplary — craftspeople and master painters all. Larry would typically visit the job site once or twice a day to review the work and be available to the owner for consultation if needed. He has only one crew and your job is the only one with which he is concerned. Cathy and I could not be happier with the result. The entire experience was first-rate and we strongly recommend these wonderful people for your home restoration and painting project

I selected Side-Pro because they were the most professional, direct and honest of the contractors I interviewed. The gentleman who reviewed my home and the work that needed to be done used no pushy sales tactics, came up with quotes for several different options and price tiers, and was actually informed and experienced regarding the work to be done. This standard held for every person I met from their staff, from the office to the on-site contractors. Everyone was responsive, friendly and very helpful. My house was completely sided in Hardie Plank, fully up to Hardie's specifications, replacing some aging LP recalled planking and T1-11, along with correcting several emerging structural issues, including a completely rotten corner. The planks are straight, the seams perfect. The paint crew was incredibly fast and had the whole house done in a day, even coating all around, and only a few touchups found in the final walk-through. The only issue that arose with the project was due to a miscommunication between two crews trading off the siding project, which Duane immediately set about correcting without my even having to ask, let alone having to argue with them. My home looks fantastic, and I can't recommend them highly enough

It was a pleasure working with Perdue Builders from quotation to completion! My project included new windows, siding, painting, decks, porches, and stairs. Everything they said they would do they did. I am a retired contractor with 30 years in the business and can attest to the fact that their work is high quality with great attention to detail. The site was kept clean and orderly throughout the project. The crew was great to work with, professional, and communicated well with me. I highly recommend Perdue Builders

Larry and crew did an extensive rehab to the exterior of my home - rebuilding porch, custom mill work, repair of siding, plus painting. The job done was extremely high quality and thorough. I was especially impressed with the prep job done before painting began and the very detailed carpentry that was done. The crew was exceptional. They were careful not to let any issues spill over to the neighbors, kept my yard organized while work was ongoing, and left the job site spotless when they were all done with everything. When it comes to working with Larry you get what you pay for, which is high quality workmanship, attention to detail, and a skilled crew

We have had the pleasure of working with **** since 2011, and over the years he has completed several projects for us that have spanned large complex remodels, new construction, and major structural repairs. The reason we have **** and Johnson Custom Builders as our sole resource for construction projects is due to his process for comprehensive planning and estimation, project management, attention to detail, project schedule integrity, excellent subcontractors, quality of outcome, his personal involvement in every detail-- and that he is incredibly pleasant to work with! We have dealt with many contractors and custom builders over the years, and **** and Johnson Custom Builders are the hands down the best

Our HOA re-roofed all ten buildings this Spring. Some of the eaves needed new plywood and required they be primed and painted. Each building had new eaves that needed to be addressed. The buildings are two stories and required masking and taping. New plywood was primed first and then the painters had to come back and paint. The job was labor intensive and required the ladders be moved frequently. The job was completed in three days during some very hot weather. I would recommend Jesus and his crew!! Margaret M

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Travis helped me tremendously! Premier Painting walked into mess and fixed every inch of my house! In preparations of getting my house re-strained I hired a pressure washing company to get rid my stain & clean up my siding. What I didn’t realize is they ruined most of my siding by penetrating too deep in the wood. When Premier Painting came to stain, they noticed my stain wouldn’t adhere to the wood. After recognizing this, Travis immediately stopped work and called me back to the house. Here he physically stained my house in front of me showing me what was happening. After identifying the issue, Travis and I talked in-depth of my options and he gave me his professional opinion. Since I had an oil-based stain I had to go over it with an oil-based paint so it’d properly bond onto one another. Changing my options from a stain to a 3-toned paint job meant I had to pick out colors in the next 1-3 days! Premier Painting had a strict schedule they had to adhere by so I had to pick quickly so I wouldn’t lose my spot in line. Therefore I went to the paint store and picked out what I thought I’d like…Premier bought the paint and primed my house. After realizing what the color would look like from the primer I realized I hated it! Here I had bought $2k in paint and didn’t know what to do. Travis again was there to help me. He showed me previous pictures of houses he did in the past and offered further suggestions. One of those suggestions being that instead of buying new paint we instead take the paint we had back to Sherwin and darken it to my liking. The next day he met me at the paint store at 7am and were there over an hour together doing paint test samples. Finally I found something I think I had liked and went with it. After all said and done Travis offered me great advice and I’m forever grateful. My house turned out beautifully. I will definitely be calling them for any future needs or work! - Austi

How much can you save by handling an exterior home painting job yourself?

When you decide to paint your home’s exterior on your own, you are on the hook for just the supplies and paint. DIY painting, on average, may run up to $1,000. That number changes if you need to pay for scaffolding or other equipment.

You must also account for your time. If you miss work to finish the project, you could lose cash, reducing the savings. Moreover, if you don’t have previous experience painting, you might not like the outcome.

Before suiting up in painter’s garb and grabbing a roller brush, obtain pricing from residential house painting services in Tacoma.

What does exterior home painting help cost on average?

When you look at the average, customers end up paying about $3,000 for exterior home painting projects. But prices can vary a lot depending on details , including the level of prep work required and what type of paint you prefer. The size of the area needing paint is a huge consideration in price. Individuals tend to pay $0.75 to $2 per square foot on average.

Larger or more difficult exterior painting projects tend to cost more, with projects on the higher end averaging around $6,000. Painting work in New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and the West Coast generally is more costly than in other locations.

Applying paint over two or more types of materials can change the complete cost of the work. Brick is generally the most expensive material to add paint to. Home painting work involving brick may average $3,000 to $10,000. Concrete, wood, metal, and vinyl are the least costly materials to add paint to.
