"This retaining wall was done during last April and it took a full week to complete. Even with some of the days having some rainy weather, the guys kept at it and did finish this wall well done. I had some weed prevent fabric put down on top of the back fill, and then I chose gravel which I like and have no grass to water and mow. So yes this project ended up with good function and looks, thanks."

"4 hyberheat mistubishi mini splits (2 of them extra powerful) and a great outdoor unit $30k 4 years free financing Far better deal than Blue Flame and others and no sleezy salesman tactics. Service was good too. A broken seal meant water was getting into the basement. They came in 18 minutes and fixed is super fast!"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Since basements are prone to water and moisture issues and the resulting problems can be expensive to repair and potentially damaging to your home, basement waterproofing is almost always worthwhile. Even for homes that haven’t experienced water infiltration, waterproofing the basement is insurance against facing expensive repair bills in the future. All basements will leak at some point, so fixing drainage issues and taking steps to prevent moisture and water infiltration is wise.

A moisture or vapor barrier helps separate the warm air inside your home from the cold air outside of it. Without it, your walls could collect condensation, mold, or other damage. Check your local building codes to see if including an interior vapor barrier is necessary for your building project or renovation, especially for rooms that are likely to be humid, like bathrooms.

To maintain an outdoor structure, perform regular inspections for damage, leaks, and weak joints. Clean the structure regularly, treat or repaint wood surfaces for weather resistance, and reinforce any weak joints to prevent deterioration and ensure its longevity.

Regular inspections, maintaining proper grading around the foundation, and keeping gutters clear are advisable. Vapor barriers and sealants may need checking for wear after several years.

The primary downside to crawl space encapsulation is the high cost, which can be several thousand dollars. Additionally, the process can make future repairs more complicated by limiting access to plumbing and electrical wiring within the crawl space. Encapsulation also requires sealing off any vents, which can be a disadvantage for home designs that benefit from the airflow they provide. It's recommended to consult with a crawl space contractor to determine if the benefits outweigh these potential drawbacks for your specific home.
