"We initially contacted Attila Musci at Cascade Window and Glass about replacing the glass in the slider window (both movable and stationary parts) above our kitchen sink in early December 2015. This was being done because we were remodeling our kitchen, i.e. replacing countertops and flooring. Based on our approximate measurements we received a quote and decided to go ahead with the project. While meeting with the tech designer for our kitchen remodel we discovered that once the new countertops were in place we would not be able to remove the kitchen window, so the window repair would need to be done before the countertop installation. This didn't seem to be a problem because we were told that the project probably wouldn't start for several months. When we found out that the project would begin much sooner than expected (to our delight!) , i.e. in the middle of January, we needed to move up the appointment date for Attila to measure the windows. When he came out he discovered that he couldn't remove the windows with the existing faucet in place, so we needed to coordinate the removal of the window glass with the demolition crew removing the old countertops and kitchen fixtures. After many phone calls everything was approved, and the date and time were set for Attila to remove the old window glass, put the new glass in the existing frames, and reinstall the windows -- with a very quick turn-around so as not to delay the demolition crew. Attila was great to work with -- he was willing to change and adapt his schedule as needed to accommodate the timeline for our kitchen remodel. He is very professional and really knows his business. This is the second time that we've worked with him, and will continue to do so as the need arises."

When we discovered the rails that allow the table to extend and accommodate leaves had cracked (actually more like split along the grain), we went to the major retailer from whom we'd purchased the table and an extended warranty ... only to be told, "The warranty doesn't cover that."  So after  My Agile  Cousin Yancy 's blew us off, we sought out a couple of repair businesses on Angie's List.
Another offered an equally attractive price for the work but wanted to charge $115 per hour for pick-up and delivery. Heck, my mechanic doesn't charge that much to work on my car, and they're just driving. The Memory Mender was much more accommodating and reasonable.
He came out to our house to assess the damage, then gave us an estimate. He also worked hard to find quality parts economically, installed them professionally, and refinished the top so that it looks new again.
He and a helper picked up the table, he did the work, and the pair returned it to our home in about 10 days. We are LOVING it!

"We recently purchased our house knowing it needed to be repainted. I began looking for painters in June and schedule 3 estimates for end of June/early July. Scott was my third estimate. I had an appointment for Monday, July 3 but no one showed up. When I called to ask, Scott offered to come out on July 4. I took this as a good sign for customer service and responsiveness. Although his was one of the higher bids, I chose Emerald Coats for several reasons: Scott's willingness to take time out of his holiday to give an estimate Very favorable reviews and status on Angie's List Scott's extensive experience and knowledge of paint and wood Expected project timeline and completion by end of August. This summer we also had our deck replaced to fix a hazardous situation caused by poor construction quality (a process that only started after 8 months waiting on a permit from the city). Due to delivery lead time required to get the decking material, we knew there would be a ~2 week break during construction. Our hope was to have the house painted during this window to make everything as efficient as possible. When I brought this up with Scott, I was told this wouldn't be a problem and, if the timing didn't work out, the two crews would be able to work around each other without incident. Scott informed me his crew had several jobs ahead of ours so there might be a delay. As August rolled around, I asked for an update on when pressure washing and painting, I consistently got an answer that it would start in the next week or so. After the third time I mentioned that we were coming up on the end of our window for painting without the construction crew at the house. Finally, his crew came out to pressure wash with the expectation of getting started early the next week (allowing time for the house to dry). The construction crew was back when they came to paint, so Scott's crew started priming on the opposite side of the house. At first this arrangement was fine, but once the crew started encroaching on the construction area, difficulties arose. First, the crews had a very hard time working in the same location. We received calls independently from both Scott and the construction company owner informing us of issues related to the other crew. My wife and I each had to intervene on separate occasions to ensure ease tensions and smooth over the relationship. Second (and this was a major reason we hoped to have painting done before the new deck was installed), overspray and paint splatter occurred several times, causing the construction crew to have to clean up and in one instance replace several already installed planks. Third, there were a couple places where siding had been removed to install decking and support. I confirmed with Scott that he or his crew could come back to paint those once they were put back on. Scott asked that the boards be primed prior to his coming back. The construction crew used the remaining primer to do what they could on the new siding but what was left did not cover all the wood. Consequently, this led to further delays as we did not understand priming and painting could not occur on the same day. Ultimately, the house was painted and the quality of work done by Scott’s crew was generally very high. We are happy with the final product. Unfortunately, an estimated one week project took nearly a month and required intervention on the part of myself or my wife at nearly every turn."

"He promptly came to my home and advised me how much could be painted in the 40 hrs. I purchased.  His visit was professional and helpful.  The date set for the work had to be changed by two days due to weather problems at a prior job site.  I was given adequate notice of the change.  I was told it would take 2 1/2 days.  The new start time meant the work started on a Thursday so I asked if that meant they would complete the work on Saturday, or if it would have to be completed on Monday.  I was told he would staff the job so that it was completed on Friday.  Two painters arrived on time at 8 a.m each morning and left around 4:30.  When it appeared Thursday that the work would be difficult to complete on Friday, I was asked if it would be inconvenient to complete it on Monday.   I had already scheduled a carpet cleaner and the house was basically unusable except for the bath and one bedroom.  I told him it would be inconvenient and reminded him that he had said he would staff it so that it was completed Friday.  The work was completed on Friday.   He explained it was not pristine as they were rushed.  I didn't feel the rushing was my fault as he changed the date and apparently understaffed.   The painters missed two small areas, but arrived promptly the following Monday and completed the work in 30 minutes.
I would rate the painting an A as well as most of the fill work.  However, larger holes were not expertly filled; for instance a hole where the door knob had been bumping the wall.  That fill is very obvious.  Before the painting I had a two inch hole repaired where there had originally been a wall phone.  This was done by a person with a good amount of experience and the repair is not visible.   Therefore I would rate some of the fill work a C+.  The furniture and rugs were well protected.  I only have one small visible spot on the rug.  The painters were at all times professional.   My B rating for Quality was because of some of the fill work and I would have preferred to give this a B+ rating, but it was not available for use.  My home is a 1969 split level and I believe had more fill work needed than newer homes.  I would recommend this firm.
