"He's a perfectionist. He uses high-quality paints and brushes. There weren't any drips, and everything was thoroughly covered. We applied two coats, which we were very happy with. I received referrals from two other people at our church. He had painted the inside of our church, and another person I knew had him paint the outside of their home; both were very pleased with his work. He always says, and he said the same thing when he finished the inside of my house, 'If you have any problems, call me and I'll come and make it right.' He offers a really good guarantee on his high-quality work."

"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

"Juan & Team did a great job and worked very quickly to revamp our old yard layout with vegetation removal, leveling & a fence. There were some communication gaps but overall we’re very happy with the work, time, and price for labor/materials. Would recommend."

"Working with the Ybarra team, Daniel, Alfredo, Jacob and Jason was an outstanding experience. We had a large project flattening a slope, installing a retailing wall, cedar fence, pavers, river rock and a railing on our deck. Everything was exactly how we envisioned it and the work was extremely high quality. The team was fast and listened to all of my concerns. There was always someone available to answer my questions throughout the project. Would highly recommend Ybarra for my future projects."

"We made an appointment and he was there when he said he would be. He is a very pleasant young man. He gave me three different options on what to be done and then e-mailed me the estimates. I got the estimate on repairing and remodeling of the deck. He quoted me somewhere between $22,000 to $50,000. He was very warm, friendly and professional. He asked me questions about what it was that I needed and told me his ideas, so that there was a back and forth communication about what needed to be done."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Whether you can paint over your existing paint depends on what’s on there. Most of the time, you’ll want to sand down or scrape off the paint that’s currently coating your surface. Epoxy paint, for example, won’t let new paint stick to the surface. Latex paint is more forgiving and will accept a new coat, but a primer is recommended if you’re switching colors.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

Oxygen bleach uses hydrogen peroxide as a base and won’t harm wood when using it as a cleaner. On the other hand, chlorine bleach breaks down wood at the cellular level and causes irreversible harm. Although you may not see immediate damage to wood after exposing it to chlorine bleach, its strength and integrity are now compromised.

If you have a smooth, already bonded concrete surface, painting a concrete pool deck can be a great way to brighten up the area and add longevity. If the surface has another covering or a different type of paint has been used previously, you won’t be able to paint it without removing the existing coating. Wooden decks benefit from painting as it helps to keep them watertight. Quality pool deck paints also help make the surface less slippery and less likely to gather mold and mildew or prematurely crack.

Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.
