Indoor air quality is one concern that homeowners have when they decide to investigate air duct cleaning. Your heating and cooling system is the lungs of your home. The system takes air in and breathes air out. Through normal occupation in a home, we generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust, and chemicals. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in the duct work. While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean unhealthy air in your home, school or workplace, they may be contributing to larger health issues or harboring contaminants that could cause serious problems for people with respiratory health conditions, autoimmune disorders or some environmental allergies.

"  I was afraid to sleep with the AC at night because I didn't trust the air from the vents. In the past we had it cleaned but the companies who did the work never really cleaned all the way through. They just cleaned a few feet from the register.  This last hot spell motivated me to find someone who would do the job right. I did my homework and searched all the usual places and checked for reviews, ratings and complaints with BBB.  The time I spent was well worth it. I decided on Matt Jeppesen from Power Vac LLC. He arrived and in his no-nonsense way attacked the job. My husband and I were impressed with his tools and attitude. He did such a thorough job, I could immediately tell how much cleaner my air was. And his price was so reasonable. I had checked with other companies, and many wanted twice as much.   Matt is an authentic, honest and hard-working guy. I couldn't recommend this company more highly!"

"My wife and I moved into our home last Nov. We completed many renovations that included lots of dust and the vents and returns likely were never serviced, at least not for a LONG time. So, I decided that I wanted my vents to be cleaned. After an attempted bait and switch from a FaceBook solicitation, whom was going to WAY overcharge me, and I declined their service, I casually asked my HVAC guy for a recommendation. He said use Powervac, LLC. I had never heard of them, but trust my HVAC guy, so I called. My initial interaction with Mary was great. She was VERY kind, caring, and informative. They were booked out a couple of weeks (for obvious reasons). She had me scheduled out to 6/18 on the calendar and would call me if any cancellations. She ended up calling me 2x to move the date up and here it is 6/12 and the work is complete! It's really a cool process and the two technicians, Jason and Matt, worked hard, communicated very well, had a great sense of humor, and their teamwork was outstanding! Many companies have lost the art of Customer Service. PowerVac, LLC has not and in fact operates like a well oiled machine. Saved me $300 over the FaceBook ad. Highly recommend them!!!"

If you have a forced-air heating system, it’s important to have it professionally inspected at least once per year. During one of these visits, your contractor will look at all of the components of your HVAC system, including your furnace or heat pump, air conditioner, and ducts. On average, an HVAC inspection costs $300. It’s also important to perform basic maintenance between inspections, such as changing your filters and cleaning dust from around your vents.

Vents may blow air even though the air conditioning system is off because of the pressure difference between indoor and outdoor air or drafts from leaky ducts. Check for leaks or drafts in the ductwork or around windows and doors.

It’s possible to remove too much humidity from the air, but it’s very unlikely.
