"Jesse and his crew did an overall great job from start to finish - prep (all floors were covered well), work (repairing drywall to prepare for painting was A+, and they even painted some spots that I forgot), and clean up. I appreciated that Jesse asked me if I was satisfied numerous times along the way. I would hire them again!"

"The work was finished nice and very clean. The price is very competitive. Come to work onsite as planned. One thing to improve is communication. I called several times , voice message is full and can not leave message. Emails communication is fast. I had one mis communication with them on the emails for setting up work schedule. Overall I would reccomend them and satisfied with their work."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.

Plastering lasts for around 15 to 20 years without needing repairs or maintenance in most cases, and with proper upkeep, plastering can last a lifetime—sometimes more than 100 years. Plaster repair costs between $1 and $3 per square foot, and you may need these services once every 15 to 20 years or so unless you have a harsh climate where humidity changes are a constant issue. You can also opt to skim-coat plaster for between $0.90 and $1.30 per square foot, which may serve you better in the long run.

Costs depend on damage extent of damage, labor, finishing, and whether mold remediation is needed.

When sanding drywall mud, you’re going to create a very fine dust that may contain silica. Silica dust contains crystalline silica, which can cause long-term illnesses for people who inhale it in significant quantities. Wear a mask while sanding drywall. Then dampen a drywall sponge to wipe the dust off the drywall, helping to reduce the amount of dust that may become airborne.

If your home was built before the 1940s and was not remodeled in the past 50 or so years, you probably have plaster walls. Aside from assuming, there are some practical ways to tell if you have plaster walls, including the following: If you knock on the wall and it feels solid, not hollow, if you can’t insert a thumbtack easily, if there are cracks that look like spiderwebs, or if your home has curved, arched, or swirled walls, doorways, or window openings.

If you have an unfinished basement or attic, you could examine the backs of any finished walls to check, too.
