Pro is an important part of their name, and they live it! Protech Environmental is a top notch contractor. We hired them to safely remove vinyl flooring that contained asbestos, after we found them on the WA state Labor & Industries Certified Contractors List. Use this list in combination with Angi before you have any asbestos remediation done. Protech's bid was the lowest bid we received, but that was not the only reason we chose them. Each time we contacted them, they responded within a few hours. We sent Protech and the other bidders questions about their plans for the job, including their workers' vaccination status (they are all vaccinated), how long the work would take, and other things. They responded promptly and completely, and came to the house in advance of the work to make sure they knew exactly what we needed. On the day of the job, they called us several hours before they were to begin, to tell us they had to deal with an equipment problem and would be here about an hour late. They weren't that late, only about 40 minutes. Once they began, they worked efficiently, finishing the work in less time than expected. An important part of asbestos abatement is the clean up at the end of the project, and they did a wonderful job. They did a great job of removing their barriers with only a few spots where their tape took small amounts of paint from the walls. Any staples were removed and the woodwork was not harmed. We are very pleased with Protech's work. We will recommend them to anyone we know and the next time we need a contractor we will look at them first to see if they offer the services we need.

Terrible job. We hired them to get asbestos tape removal from heating ducts. They did remove the asbestos. But in addition: - They ravaged the paint around the heating vents - They destroyed the registers screw holes, so now we are unable to put them back on - They did not reseal the ducts, although they said they would; somebody was supposed to come do it, but never showed up. I asked Kelvin to send instructions for resealing twice, but he never did. Hastily done job. Terrible, terrible, avoid at all cost.

Great - the team was in and out quickly. They were responsive and easy to communicate with and the price was very competitive.

Asbestos Removal

The team did a fantastic job! They worked with me to move my appointment several times during the pandemic, always making it easy and without judgement as to why we needed to move. Once they came, they set up quickly, got to work, and were done way faster than I expected. Once done, they cleaned up and left the house better than I thought it would be. They also left the ceiling in such good shape that I will save thousands on repair and paint costs. They were a fantastic team, wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

This project involved removing popcorn ceiling from a 1600 sf condominium. Great crew - polite and professional. When coordinating the appointment for the work, they were responsive to email questions. The crew that did the work were professional and very easy to work with. A very positive experience.

The Protech crew were very efficient and highly professional. The job entailed removing some 570 sf give or take of popcorn ceiling. Even though we're in N Seattle they arrived on time, thoroughly prepped the two rooms involved the first day and removed the popcorn on the second. Can't recommend Protech highly enough.

They did a nice job. I didn’t realize that I’d need someone to come in behind to finish the plaster underneath (lots of cracks from age), but that’s on me. They had to remove the light fixtures, so would have been appreciated if they had put them back up, but they didn’t. All in all, I was happy with their work and ability to schedule pretty quickly.

We are doing a basement remodel in a 1960's era home that had asbestos confirmed in the ceiling. Our contractor suggested we could save money by contracting the service ourselves. I contacted Protech Environmental through Angie's List based on the number of good reviews for this type of work. They responded quickly and told me what was necessary to get a quote. I figured out the sq footage of the ceiling area needed to be scraped off and Jason was able to respond quickly, file the necessary permits, and we set a date that worked for both of us. The workers arrived promptly as planned, did the work and completed the work on time. They walked us through upon completion. We were delighted with the ease of doing business with them, the good communication which addressed any issues we had, and they left the job site clean. The invoice was exactly what was quoted, no hidden fees or charges. Much easier than we expected, always a nice surprise.

It went great. They were fast, courteous, and very efficient. they did everything we asked at the best price. we had about 520 plus square feet of popcorn ceiling containing asbestos removed. They had all the right equipment and knowledge to do the job correctly. Leaving a clean and safe environment. first day sealed the entire room second day removed popcorn ceiling, taking off vents and light to get to all the ceiling.

Jason and his team were professional and efficient. The work was done thoroughly and on time. There was minimal damage to the ceiling and no other damage to the walls or trim. They removed the ceiling fixtures and arranged them neatly in the garage. I am happy that I selected Protech to do this work.

They were cooperative, and made an effort to honestly help me when I asked questions about billing and what I could do with my ceiling after.

Protech showed up on time and did the work, finishing a bit earlier than estimated, which was good. The underlying drywall was left in good condition. There were a few tears partway through the drywall paper, but that is to be expected by the process and obviously the ceiling needs to be repaired/re-mudded and possibly textured, so none of it really matters. The only very minor issue was they left a 5-6 staples in trim. These staples held the plastic sheeting used for containment. I don't mind, because I'm removing this trim anyway.

Great. Jason was responsive will all calls and emails; arrived on time; work was completed quickly. They kept me appraised of daily progress/status. All-around satisfactory experience. Would highly recommend them.

Since this was part of a remodel, they actually removed the tiles and the insulation in the ceiling. They work was done on schedule, the environment was nicely cleaned upon completion and they provided a very competitive price.

Jason and Calvin were very responsive from the start when they answered my inquiry for a quote to the day work was completed. It took three days to do the actual work which looks wonderful! In addition, everything was cleaned up much better than I had expected. Our contractor was also very happy with the work that Jason and Calvin did for us. Kelvin came and did an estimate one afternoon, and we set up a date for a week or two later for the work. It went pretty well and much faster than I expected. They didn't need to seal off the whole house for linoleum tile removal, just the bathroom itself. They even disposed of our old toilet for us that they'd needed to pull up for the floor work. I found Kelvin really responsive, both to email and phone, and very personable. We had used Protech once in our prior house for asbestos popcorn ceiling removal, and I would definitely hire them again for any future asbestos removal we might need.

We were so impressed with Jason and his team. Their bid for removing our popcorn ceiling was very competitive and they were able to squeeze our project in on short notice as soon as the 10-day waiting period for filing permits was done. Our ceiling is plaster and they managed to remove the popcorn without damaging the plaster much so it will be a minor job to get it patched and primed for painting. They completed the job in less than five hours and they were so great to work with. The whole team was friendly and personable, which is just an added bonus on top of great work and a great price! I would highly recommend them and would absolutely hire them again if I needed more work done!

Jason, Kelvin, & TJ did an amazing job. The work was completed in the time frame quoted and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. My contractor, who will be doing the painting, said he is very impressed with the quality of the removal. Jason and team removed all light fixtures and stored safely for reuse.
