"I had a breaker problem that was turning off the power to half my home in Bothell. Switch Electric responded promptly to my call for help & the very nice young man who came to my home was extremely knowledgeable, thorough & systematic in his approach to identify the problem. I highly recommend Switch Electric. The two young men who assisted me in rectifying the breaker problem were great. Anyone who wants high level expertise in electrical matters, prompt response & excellent communication skills, hire Switch Electric for your electrical needs."

"I have had the pleasure of working with Smart Electric for a couple years now. I am a Project Manager for a Custom Home Builder and this company has it dialed in! Joe is amazing to work with. He excels in putting together bids quickly, being very communicative, and is always very professional. They also have an all-star crew. Jason and Keith are some of the best electrical leads I have worked with. They always have a great attitude onsite. Also a shout out to the office staff Sammy & Molly are great to work with. They are always on top of scheduling inspections and communicating updates with me. Highly recommend Smart Electric!"

"Full Service Electrical was excellent across the board, and I will be using them in the future for any electrical work that may come up. Peter was quick, efficient, and very knowledgeable. He worked straight through two full days to get the job done, even coming back the second day to complete a few more items that unexpectedly came up during the first days work. I was quoted their very reasonable (for Seattle!) hourly rate for the extra work, and he was back the next day to finish everything up. He had novel solutions for my old house wiring that helped keep the job minimally invasive, and he was very respectful of our space, taking great care to clean up after himself. All in all, a very good experience at a very fair price. Can't recommend them enough!"

"The Juice Company responded quickly to my request for service. They were very professional, fast, and thorough. They also helped me after the job to solve a problem with an appliance that had an unusual plug. I plan to use them for all my future electrical needs."

Small jobs welcome

"We had three separate (not scary) electrical problems that had been annoying us for some time. I posted on Angi's List that I was looking for an electrician, and McCarthy Electric responded promptly. We didn't have to wait very long at all for an appointment. Our electrician not only quickly fixed those annoying problems, two of them requiring some creative thinking, but he also had such a pleasant, respectful personality. I am thrilled with the outcome!"

"They were professional, polite and careful to be considerate of the home. The job was an unexpected need to upgrade an electrical circuit to accommodate a hot water tank replacement. While I was not thrilled about the unplanned expense, I was very happy with the process with Seatown EH&A"

"We had In-House Electrical replace/upgrade our main panel as well as setup a generator hook-up and A/C outlet outside. Adam and Avery were phenomenal - they were thorough, kept in constant communication with me during the project to ensure things were being done as I liked, and left the place looking better than when they showed up. They'll be my first call in the future for any electrical work I need done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Before starting electrical work in Kirkland, review local permit requirements and check for any zoning restrictions that could impact your project. Get detailed bids from local professionals who understand Kirkland’s codes. Coordinate with your utility company for service upgrades, and ensure underground lines are marked. Assess your property for access challenges, plan for required inspections, and factor in weather and neighborhood guidelines when scheduling.

Helpful?

In Kirkland, electrical issues like frequent breaker trips, burning smells, or outlets that feel hot should be addressed right away for safety. Projects such as panel upgrades for electric vehicle charging or adding surge protection can be scheduled but are less urgent. Upgrades for convenience, like smart switches or landscape lighting, can usually wait. Consider scheduling major work during dry weather for easier access.

Helpful?

In Kirkland, unexpected costs during electrical projects often arise from required permit and inspection fees, especially if your home needs multiple inspections. Homes built before 1980 may need panel upgrades or new grounding to meet code. Additional expenses can include drywall repair after wiring, asbestos or lead abatement, landscaping restoration after trenching, or extra labor for difficult access in crawl spaces or attics.

Helpful?

In Kirkland, if you notice breakers tripping, outlets not working, flickering lights, or a burning smell, these are strong indicators you need electrical work. If you experience a full power outage, it may be a utility issue. Water near outlets often starts as a plumbing concern but can require electrical repairs as well. Tree damage or crawl space moisture may involve both electrical and other home services.

Helpful?

Your Kirkland home is a strong candidate for electrical upgrades if it was built before 1980, has an outdated panel under 200 amps, or still uses two-prong outlets or knob-and-tube wiring. Frequent use of extension cords, dimming lights when appliances start, or plans for a remodel or electric vehicle charging station are also signs your home could benefit from updated electrical work.
