"In our three bedrooms, Switch Electric installed new electrical ceiling boxes, appropriate controls, and ceiling fans (with lights). We also had them convert three outlets from being switched to unswitched. Also, in one room, we had them add a dimmer and a track lighting ceiling box. (We then installed the track lighting ourselves.) Additionally, per Redmond electrical code, then install arc-fault protection. The work required working in the attics. We supplied the fan/lights (from Seattle Lighting in Bellevue). They charged no dispatch fee and were in the middle on price compared to two other estimates. They were also the only one to include the legally required Redmond electrical inspection. On the workday, they arrived with a team of three in the morning. Their work was professional and neat. We noticed two small problems caused by miscommunications. They cheerfully come back for an hour and fixed the problems. The work passed Redmond inspectional easily. We love the fans and the lights and highly recommend Switch Electric."

"I have had the pleasure of working with Smart Electric for a couple years now. I am a Project Manager for a Custom Home Builder and this company has it dialed in! Joe is amazing to work with. He excels in putting together bids quickly, being very communicative, and is always very professional. They also have an all-star crew. Jason and Keith are some of the best electrical leads I have worked with. They always have a great attitude onsite. Also a shout out to the office staff Sammy & Molly are great to work with. They are always on top of scheduling inspections and communicating updates with me. Highly recommend Smart Electric!"

Small jobs welcome

"Our home had inadequate electric service. McCarthy Electric provided a bid to install 200 amp service to support our growing needs. My interactions with their team has been the most satisfying experience I have had with a service provider. The service was upgraded per the bid with no drama, in a timely fashion. I was kept informed of important developments in a courteous and professional manner. I will be a return customer for any future electrical needs."

"We had In-House Electrical replace/upgrade our main panel as well as setup a generator hook-up and A/C outlet outside. Adam and Avery were phenomenal - they were thorough, kept in constant communication with me during the project to ensure things were being done as I liked, and left the place looking better than when they showed up. They'll be my first call in the future for any electrical work I need done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Mill Creek, outdoor outlets, landscape lighting, and electrical panels often require attention due to persistent rain and storms. Basements and crawl spaces may need sump pump wiring or GFCI upgrades. Kitchens and bathrooms should have regular GFCI outlet checks. Older homes in Mill Creek frequently need panel upgrades or aluminum wiring replacement, while newer homes often focus on smart home features and EV charging readiness.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Mill Creek, keep a non-contact voltage tester, digital multimeter, insulated screwdrivers, wire strippers, and electrical pliers handy. Given Mill Creek’s damp climate, moisture-resistant electrical tape, weatherproof boxes, and wire nuts are essential. A GFCI outlet tester, flashlight, circuit breaker finder, surge protectors, and a portable dehumidifier are also smart additions for maintaining safe electrical systems in local homes.

Helpful?

When reviewing quotes in Mill Creek, be wary of vague breakdowns for materials or labor, missing details about necessary permits, or any contractor who avoids discussing local code compliance. Pressure for immediate payment, reluctance to provide written agreements, or a lack of Snohomish County references are warning signs. Extremely low bids or unfamiliarity with Mill Creek’s frequent moisture issues may indicate subpar or unsafe work.

Helpful?

In Mill Creek, residential electricians focus on home wiring, panel upgrades, and safety improvements. Commercial contractors handle business properties and retail spaces, while industrial specialists serve larger facilities in the area. Specialty contractors install smart home systems, solar panels, EV charging stations, generators, and pool wiring. Emergency electricians are also available, which is especially valuable during Pacific Northwest storm seasons common in Mill Creek.

Helpful?

To enhance safety for families in Mill Creek, install tamper-resistant and GFCI outlets, especially in moisture-prone areas. Use outlet covers and cord protectors, and always secure tools during projects. Weatherproof covers and dehumidifiers help manage dampness. Whole-house surge protection and emergency lighting are wise for storm-prone areas, and keeping work areas blocked off ensures children and pets stay safe during electrical work.
