"Raul called me right back, came out when he said he would with a quote and was back the next morning to prune my tree. Pruned my tree the way it should be done, cleaned up after and did an excellent job. It is well worth the money to have a company that does what they say and arrive when they say they will. No waiting around for this company to show up. On time and love the customer service. I highly recommend them."

"Joe’s Yard Service was professional, hard-working and did a great job. They removed trees, juniper bushes, ground stumps, and pruned trees and arborvitae. They went above and beyond and ground stumps that were not in the original bid. They did a good job cleaning up. I would highly recommend them!"

"Great team, exceeded expectations. Mike the owner provided clear timeline. They removed 4 trees 120ft+. Did not damage my wifes garden near the base of the trees. Removed the stump for a minimal extra charge. His staff were hard working young men very professional."

Small jobs welcome

"Clark was careful and precise during the tree removal. He was on our property line taking down a rotting tree and was thoughtful of the surrounding personal property. He cleaned up after the service as well. Overall, he did fantastic."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

No, homeowners insurance typically does not cover the cost of removing a dead, sick, or rotting tree that is still standing. Insurance is designed to protect against sudden and unexpected accidents, whereas a tree dying or rotting over time is considered a maintenance issue. Coverage usually only applies after a tree has fallen and caused damage to your property.

Lightning can cause massive damage, fires, and openings for other threats like bugs or fungal diseases. Barring any large fires or explosions, it’s difficult to tell how much damage a lightning strike has done until after a thorough inspection. Contact local authorities immediately if lightning strikes a tree in your yard and it causes a fire or explosion.

The fastest ways to remove a tree stump are by grinding it or burning it.

Stump grinding is often the quickest method, with professionals able to chip away a stump and its roots within a single session. You have the option to hire a professional stump removal service or rent a stump grinder to do it yourself. However, it's important to note that these machines can be large, difficult to transport, and dangerous to operate without prior experience. For safety reasons, hiring a local arborist or landscape specialist is often recommended.

Burning is another fast option. Before you begin, check your local burn laws. The process involves drilling holes into the stump, filling them with vegetable oil, and waiting 24 to 48 hours. Afterward, you can add charcoal bricks to the surface and light the fire, which must be attended at all times.

For a more affordable but much slower alternative, you can use potassium nitrate pellets to accelerate the natural decomposition process. This method typically takes four to six months.

Finding a reliable arborist starts with researching specialists in your area and checking their licensing and certifications. Use online resources like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to conduct research on each company. Next, contact the arborist and ask the following questions to see whether they are the right fit for your project:

  • Do you handle or specialize in dealing with the issue I’m having?

  • Are you fully insured?

  • Do you have customer references I can call?

  • Do you have any third-party certifications?

  • What equipment and strategies do you plan to use?

Trees aren't big fans of moving, and they do go into shock during a transplant. Although most carefully thought-out tree transplants see the tree recover from the shock just fine, there is always a risk of having an unsuccessful move. Proper preparation, timing, and diligent aftercare are crucial to minimize the risks when transplanting a tree.
