"Raul called me right back, came out when he said he would with a quote and was back the next morning to prune my tree. Pruned my tree the way it should be done, cleaned up after and did an excellent job. It is well worth the money to have a company that does what they say and arrive when they say they will. No waiting around for this company to show up. On time and love the customer service. I highly recommend them."

"Joe’s Yard Service was professional, hard-working and did a great job. They removed trees, juniper bushes, ground stumps, and pruned trees and arborvitae. They went above and beyond and ground stumps that were not in the original bid. They did a good job cleaning up. I would highly recommend them!"

"Great team, exceeded expectations. Mike the owner provided clear timeline. They removed 4 trees 120ft+. Did not damage my wifes garden near the base of the trees. Removed the stump for a minimal extra charge. His staff were hard working young men very professional."

Small jobs welcome

"Clark was careful and precise during the tree removal. He was on our property line taking down a rotting tree and was thoughtful of the surrounding personal property. He cleaned up after the service as well. Overall, he did fantastic."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Hiring an arborist costs around $900 on average, with prices ranging from $250 to $2,500 or more. Some arborists charge an hourly rate, typically between $100 and $350 per hour. The final cost depends on several factors, including the type of work, the number of trees, accessibility, and whether you hire an independent arborist or a larger tree service company. When hiring, you should also consider their experience and insurance coverage.

Below are some estimated costs for common arborist jobs:

  • Small tree removal: $300 to $500

  • Large tree removal: $500 to $2,000 or more

  • Tree health assessment: $150

  • Trimming a small tree: $75 to $200

  • Trimming a large tree: $150 to $400

  • Dealing with invasive species: $150 to $1,000 or more

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

The typical lifespan of a Bradford pear is relatively short, only 15 to 25 years. However, these trees have issues long before their life is over. Due to their soft wood and fast-growing branches, Bradford pear trees often split around 15 years, making them a risk for falling branches and more prone to disease.

The Christmas tree type that smells the best to you will ultimately depend on personal preference. But if that classic Christmas tree smell is important to you, choosing a type of tree known for its scent is a safe bet. Try a balsam fir for a spicy, comforting scent or a Douglas fir for a sweeter smell. You may also like Fraser firs, Scotch pines, and blue spruces.

Tree trimming can count as landscaping, depending on how a landscaping business describes its services. Professional tree trimmers are more specialized than landscapers and offer trimming services separately from general landscaping.

When general landscaping companies offer tree trimming, look up the details. They usually mean shaping or seasonal trimming of ornamental trees, which is different from trimming larger trees for health or safety reasons. When possible, look for a licensed expert that specializes in trees and tree health.
