"Had my roof done twice prior to First Rate. Both were overpriced and sub par. Bottom line, still had a leaky roof. I had just about given up. First Rate came in resurfaced my entire roof, and my roof has not leaked since. Thatâ  s now going on 4yrs."

"Excellent! Live in a home with a 3-layers of old shingles that needed to be removed after damage from a windstorm. Had several roofing companies evaluate and bid on the job. Inland Roofing was my first choice due to clear and consistent communications. John told me about the job required to remove the shingles, current code standards, and the process for re-sheeting the roof and replacing the shingles. The work was scheduled promptly, the job moved early into the work schedule and completed on time. The roof is gorgeous and I have nothing but praise for the work done by the Inland Roofing team. Will hire Inland Roofing for all of my future roofing needs."

"Alejandro made to process of get new roof easy and painless. I Called A and S Roofing and Construction LLC after being referred by a friend. I am glad I did! Alejandro inspected the entire home not just my roof. I didn't understand at first but he explained to me everything that was damaged by hail. Insurance was responsible for fixing. He walked me through my insurance paperwork and explained to me the process. By the time Alejandro got done with the job. My home beautiful again. New roof, gutters, window screens, new paint, and my deck re stained. I could not be happier with my choice of working with A and S Roofing!"

"I really appreciate JC and his crew! He was so easy to work with, got our roofing done in a day (a long day as he wanted to finish before the rain came), cleaned up everything and best of all our roof looks amazing! JC uses top quality CertainTeed products so I know it will outlast us. Also he had a crew that could repair our deck stairs. They did a sturdy job that will also last many years. If you are looking for an honest person to work with that is reasonably priced, will stand behind his jobs, and hires the best craftsmen, I highly recommend JC at A Roof Above."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

If your roof has storm damage, there will be some telltale signs. These include missing, loose, or damaged shingles. You may notice cracks or dents on the metal parts of your roof, like flashing, gutters, or metal panels. Water leaks are another big indicator. So are visible signs of impact. Rather than climb up on your roof to check, hire a professional to inspect the area  safely.

Asphalt shingles, wooden shakes, and slate or clay roofing tiles are often replaceable without having to replace the entire roof. It's possible to replace just a few shingles or tiles without much trouble in the case of wind damage or other minor problems. DIYers can perform the task in some situations. However, professional repair is always the best bet when it comes to roofing.

It’s possible to install your chimney cap in some areas, but it’s usually better to hire a professional. Before you attempt a DIY chimney cap installation, check to see if your local building department requires a permit. If it does, you should hire a professional to pull the permit and complete the work for you. Even if you don’t need a permit, getting up on your roof is dangerous, especially if you have an aggressive pitch or slippery roof material, like metal. Hiring a chimney professional guarantees the job is done correctly and keeps you safe from injury.

Technically speaking, yes, verbal agreements and “handshake deals” can be legally binding contracts that will hold up in court, but the suing party will need to be able to prove that the parties entered into the contract. Even though verbal and handshake deals can be binding, it’s risky to rely on these types of agreements for anything, including roofing projects. Always aim to get your contract in writing, and make sure it includes all terms and that you don’t agree to additional terms that don’t appear in the contract.

The lifespan of an impact-resistant roof averages 30 to 50 years, depending on the quality of the shingles and the amount of wear and tear it endures. Some high-quality shingles may last even longer. For comparison, a standard asphalt roof lasts about 20 years, so choosing an impact-resistant option can increase your roof's lifespan by 50% or more, particularly in regions prone to extreme weather.
