"Absolutely wonderful and affordable experience. George listened to my needs, ideas and requests and created a plan that took my breath away. He didn’t try to “sell” me on anything; while planning the work he’d ask, “What do you think about this? He started the project and worked nonstop until it was done, adjusting to accommodate arrival of the materials. I have never worked with such a transparently honest professional. He brought joy to a job well done!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"They showed up despite horrible weather and road conditions and were incredibly fast.  We booked through Uhaul and overestimated how much time they would need because they are probably twice as fast as the average team. They were efficient and no issues with any awkward pieces; they knew how to manuever things to get them up/down and around door openings.  I would highly recommend them for any moving job and I am sure there is a lot we could have used them for that we didnt even think of asking.

"Miller and his colleagues were able to do a lot of things quickly. Along with everything else, they also grabbed some old furniture that I needed help moving to the curb. They took several cares to make sure nothing was damaged during the move, including wrapping the furniture, turning off all the lights, and packaging the picture frames."

"After purchasing a gas dryer at Sears to replace our old one, we were informed that Sears couldn't install it when it was delivered. We were fortunate to get ahold of 1st Response Plumbing; they came when they said they would and easily did the work that Sears couldn't. Derrick was great; we were really happy with the work he did and it was very reasonable as well. We will definitely use them again."

"Brice reached out to me to see if we needed help with removal of a 55 gallon drum of bearing grease that was left on our property by the previous owner. He said he would come right out and he did. He put it in the back of his truck and it was outta here. No one else would help with this project. So we are very, very grateful for his help and professionalism. Plus he gave us an honest and fair bid."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

It’s one thing that helps, alongside vinegar and baking soda. Ice acts as an exfoliant, helping to lift off any bits of food stuck on the disposal blades.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

If you cook a lot or have a larger household, a garbage disposal can be worth it, since it streamlines your kitchen duties and helps to keep food waste out of landfills. It helps to know the cost of garbage disposal installation before you make your decision. The average price is about $400, but you can expect to pay more for higher-end models or if you hire a pro to do the job for you.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.
