"Devon was fantastic. He called ahead to try and make sure he could come with the right parts. He fixed a leaky faucet, sink drain and toilet. Also replaced an Instahot tank and moved around the filter to give us more space. Super nice guy and also showed us some helpful things while he was here (we had no idea where the house shutoff was). Cost was quite reasonable - a bit over $500. Would definitely recommend!"

"I was aware that we needed to replace our water heater and took advantage of the deal on Angie's List. Because of summer vacation schedules, I pushed off the installation for several weeks. While I was on vacation, they contacted me that they had some vacation schedule issues for the week of our planned appointment so when I returned home, I rescheduled the installation to yesterday with a two hour arrival appointment. The office confirmed our appointment the day before and the technician called before the arrival time to let me know he was running behind and gave me an estimate of when he would arrive, and again called to tell me the exact time he would be here (I appreciated that they kept me informed and he was only an hour later than originally planned). Interestingly, the appointment was fortunate since our water heater had pooped out the night before! The technician arrived, very professional, and we talked about what he was planning to do before he started, made recommendations for replacement of some of attached equipment and the reasoning why replace, and what the cost of those replacements would be before he started, and gave me an estimate of how long the installation would take. When he finished, he went through the completed equipment with me and left a clean worksite. Trace was an excellent representative for the company. I would use this company again if needed."

"I needed some additional work done to remove a kitchen disposal and put new pipes in and also to have pipes replaced on a back bathroom we had just remodeled. Mad Pipers did such a great job with the large re-piping job I hired them for over the summer, I didn't hesitate to call Zack & Ragen for the quote for the additional work. They replied promptly and we scheduled the work within a few days. The work was completed by Curtis who arrived on-time and did a great job! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services!"

"Jaspe (?) and his crew arrived right on time and immediately began the job.  They hand dug the trench to proper depth (12" to 18").  This resulted in filling the trench with lots of water.  They installed the rock and proper sized drain pipe with dirt straining fabric.  They, also, hooked up the shop's rain down spouts to the drain pipe.  They were very careful when working in the lawn (swamp) area.  When job was completed (one day) they cleaned the whole area, hauled away the dug up dirt/gravel and wash off the concrete pad.  The area looks better now than it did before they started.  I highly recommend Wu Construction for any drainage problems.  This is the 2nd time they have done work for us.  Job well done.

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You can also use a two-liter soda bottle filled with water to push pressurized water into the pipe to dislodge the debris (see the steps above).

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.

A liquid drain cleaner can sometimes make a clog worse over time if you use it improperly or too much. The chemicals in drain cleaners can corrode and damage pipes, causing cracks and leaks that may cause further blockages. If the clog is more than the liquid drain cleaner can handle, the cleaner will simply add chemicals to a bigger overall problem.

Some homeowners use additives every month to help septic system performance, but according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the effectiveness of septic system and leach field additives is unknown. Further, additives made with organic solvents or alkali chemicals can actually be harmful to the necessary bacteria in a septic system.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.
