"Devon was fantastic. He called ahead to try and make sure he could come with the right parts. He fixed a leaky faucet, sink drain and toilet. Also replaced an Instahot tank and moved around the filter to give us more space. Super nice guy and also showed us some helpful things while he was here (we had no idea where the house shutoff was). Cost was quite reasonable - a bit over $500. Would definitely recommend!"

"I was aware that we needed to replace our water heater and took advantage of the deal on Angie's List. Because of summer vacation schedules, I pushed off the installation for several weeks. While I was on vacation, they contacted me that they had some vacation schedule issues for the week of our planned appointment so when I returned home, I rescheduled the installation to yesterday with a two hour arrival appointment. The office confirmed our appointment the day before and the technician called before the arrival time to let me know he was running behind and gave me an estimate of when he would arrive, and again called to tell me the exact time he would be here (I appreciated that they kept me informed and he was only an hour later than originally planned). Interestingly, the appointment was fortunate since our water heater had pooped out the night before! The technician arrived, very professional, and we talked about what he was planning to do before he started, made recommendations for replacement of some of attached equipment and the reasoning why replace, and what the cost of those replacements would be before he started, and gave me an estimate of how long the installation would take. When he finished, he went through the completed equipment with me and left a clean worksite. Trace was an excellent representative for the company. I would use this company again if needed."

"I needed some additional work done to remove a kitchen disposal and put new pipes in and also to have pipes replaced on a back bathroom we had just remodeled. Mad Pipers did such a great job with the large re-piping job I hired them for over the summer, I didn't hesitate to call Zack & Ragen for the quote for the additional work. They replied promptly and we scheduled the work within a few days. The work was completed by Curtis who arrived on-time and did a great job! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services!"

"Wu Construction did an excellent job for us. Greg estimated what work needed to be done and we scheduled it as quickly as possible. The crew was on-time, very efficient and did a really nice job keeping things as clean as possible, which is no easy task when repairs are done to a wet & muddy foundation area. A full interior perimeter drainage and sump pump system was installed to eliminate standing water in the crawl space. The crew also removed all old floor insulation and installed new R-30 insulation. The crawl space was completely cleaned up and a new vapor barrier was installed. Everything was completed as agreed upon - all at a very fair & reasonable price. The crew even installed a permanent access ladder to the area so it would be easier to get into the crawl space area. I'd highly recommend Wu Construction for any drainage or foundation work needed to your home or business. Greg, the Estimator/Scheduler and Thomas Wang, the Construction Manager were a pleasure to work with. They kept us up-to-date on everything and were true to their word. I look forward to working with them again, as needed."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

A clogged air gap can cause a dishwasher not to drain. There are, however, other potential issues that can lead to improper drainage. For example, if you have attached the air gap to a garbage disposal and forgotten to remove the knockout plug, wastewater may backflow into the dishwasher. Check that the air gap is installed properly, and then look for clogs in the air gap and dishwasher filters.

Professionals use snakes, hydrojetting, or chemical cleaners to clear blockages effectively without damaging pipes.

Boiling water helps unclog a drain, but usually only with a harder abrasive such as baking soda or vinegar. On its own, it isn’t the most effective tool. In addition, you shouldn’t use boiling water if you have PVC pipes, as it can soften or melt them. Use a plunger or enlist the help of a pro if you have plastic pipes.

No, you should avoid using liquid drain cleaners. These chemicals, often packed with sulfuric or hydrochloric acid, can wreak havoc on your pipes, causing erosion and potential leaks. They’re also dangerous to your health. If you’re dealing with a stubborn clog, manual removal or a professional plumber is your best bet. Chemical drain cleaners can often make things worse, especially if the clog stays put and the chemicals linger in your pipes.

Most clogs are resolved quickly, often within an hour. More complex issues requiring pipe disassembly might take longer.
