"Devon was fantastic. He called ahead to try and make sure he could come with the right parts. He fixed a leaky faucet, sink drain and toilet. Also replaced an Instahot tank and moved around the filter to give us more space. Super nice guy and also showed us some helpful things while he was here (we had no idea where the house shutoff was). Cost was quite reasonable - a bit over $500. Would definitely recommend!"

"Excellent work, all around! The crew was hardworking, and the work performed has stood the test of time. Three years ago, Wu Construction expertly installed a full crawl space perimeter footing drain, brought in drainage gravel, and installed a 1/3 hp sump pump. Also installed a 6 mil black vapor barrier, checked and sealed alle entry points to prevent rodent entry, re-installed all loose inulation and replaced heat duct insulation. The crawl space has remained bone dry, and we've had no further issues with moisture or rodents."

"We are happy with their work and service to repair a room with a sinking foundation. They installed push piers and smart jacks to stabilize our foundation. They were patient in explaining the process, their work was of good quality, and they finished within the stated time period."

"I have a 1906 cottage in N Seattle, with an old porous foundation. Water came into the basement for the first time in 20 years. Another contractor bid the job at $12,000 after 3 site visits and almost a month. Andy came out to the house the same day I talked to him, and estimated the same job at half that price. He followed up with questions, asked about making another visit, came out again and saw that the drainpipe was disconnected at the top of the area being flooded. 75% of the roof's water was pooling against the house. He found a ladder and fixed it and isn't charging me a dime. So, no French drain, no Delta drain, no foundation treatment, no 50' of trenching, no $$$. Andy was timely, reliable, did what he said, and knows his stuff. He was a great communicator, and I feel so so lucky to have found him."

"Last week I had a cracked, peeling, aggregate walkway that was very prone to incursions of dirt and debris from the surrounding planting beds and also to moss growth. Because the walkway was slightly lower than the surrounding beds, it was also difficult to shovel the snow off it. There were two, overly high steps from the walkway to the porch, so that it was awkward to move a piece of furniture into and out of the house, and so that anyone with mobility limitations would find the entrance daunting.
Now I have an absolutely perfect walkway that gently slopes up to a single, lower step, and that looks more welcoming and more integrated with the porch and the house. The walkway is higher than the planting beds so that debris will no longer accumulate on the walkway or cause moss growth on its surface. Snow can easily be pushed off the walkway to the sides. There is a very slight tilt to the walkway so that  rainwater will drain away from the house.
Here were the things I liked about All Concrete Surfaces work:
1. Design. The other contractors who gave me a bid on this work planned to replace the existing walkway. They did not suggest any improvements. Rich came up with a design that improved the function of the walkway. In fact, the redesigned walkway not only alleviated my issues with steps and with debris on the walkway, its design is much more pleasing.
2. Quality of employees. Rich's employees are knowledgeable, hard-working and professional. I worry my way through every project so it was a great relief to have people working on my walkway who could understand my concerns and give me clearly understandable, simple English explanations of what was being done. I also had some particular requests about parking with which the employees complied immediately and cheerfully, even when it meant extra effort on their parts.
3. Supervision. Rich does the most skilled work himself, and he overlooks each phase of the project. I want to meet the person working on my project before it starts. With Rich, I was able to do that.
4. Communications. There were no surprises on the contract,. It was written in simple jargon-free English. Rich called the night before work started to remind me that he would be arriving the next day at  8:30. We went over the design details when the work started. Any questions I had thereafter were clearly explained by Rich or his employees. Too often the person who executes the project isn't the person who gave me the bid and has no clear idea what was agreed on. Too often the person doing the bidding doesn't inform me that he or she won't be anywhere near the work site while the work is going on, and I'll be working with a complete unknown. That has been my biggest problem with contractors, and that  didn't happen with All Concrete Surfaces.
5. Quality of work. The walkway looks gorgeous. I don't think I've seen better looking concrete work.  My planting beds are very dense and close to the walkway, but to my amazement, there was no damage to a single plant, even though I had anticipated that there would be. The house was protected during the messier phases of the project, and was left spotlessly clean.

"Outstanding owner and operator of this concrete business. Rome excavated, installed rock, and finished the concrete for a pickleball court, shed pad, and extension to my driveway. Everything was done perfectly and on time. Exceptionally pleased with the work, workmanship, and the people he hired to complete a multi concrete and excavation project. So very thankful he called during my initial call for help. Excellent job and Rome leaves this project with a lifetime friend in me."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is generally unhealthy and can be dangerous to live in a damp basement. The damp air can negatively affect your breathing and lungs, and the moisture promotes mold growth and pest infestations. Inhaling mold spores or waste particles from insects and rodents attracted to the moisture can be hazardous. This damp, moldy air can also circulate into your main living area. It is crucial to resolve any moisture problems and implement preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

There are dedicated sump pump pros in most areas who can install sump pumps. However, plumbers and waterproofing specialists should also have a good amount of experience with installing sump pumps. If you don’t have any dedicated specialists in your area, reach out to a basement waterproofing specialist or a plumber.

The type of stormwater drainage system you need depends on your area’s storm severity and frequency. Your property’s location should also be considered, including the surrounding soil type, nearest roads, existing drainage systems, and slopes and hills. Your property’s structure, such as decks, walkways, crawl spaces, and foundation, also affects what drainage system will work the best.

No, homeowners insurance policies do not typically cover sump pump installation. However, some companies may offer incentives in the form of discounts or reduced premiums if homeowners install sump pumps. Insurance companies do this because sump pumps can reduce water damage claims. You may also be able to obtain enhanced water-backup coverage after installing a sump pump.

The cost to install a new sump pump, including materials and professional labor, typically ranges from $1,000 to $3,000. The average cost is often cited between $1,200 and $2,500. Several factors influence the final price, including the type of pump, the complexity of the drainage system, and the installation location. For instance, installing a sump pump in a basement may cost around $1,200, while a more complex installation in a crawl space can cost an average of $3,900. It is important to hire a licensed professional for the installation to ensure quality work, which can impact the pump's lifespan and warranty. Note that these costs are for a new installation; replacing an existing unit is less expensive, typically costing $308 to $748.
