OC Flooring.

"I hired OC Flooring to sand and refinish 2000 sq/ft of hardwood flooring. The experience was not good to say the least. They weren’t the cheapest or most expensive. They had a nice brochure, so I chose them to do the job. It started with them not using the agreed upon Bona Traffic HD finish and instead a lesser grade Bona Mega One finish. Their workmanship was subpar and unprofessional. After they initially said the job was complete, there were lots of sanding swirl marks, uneven stain, and hairs and debris in the finish. They attempted to spot treat areas which created a patchwork of different sheens. They never completed the job to a satisfactory state. My neighbor had hired them as well during the same timeframe and had an identical experience though she settled prior to court. Hopefully, this review helps others avoid making the same mistake in hiring OC Flooring that I made. Photos of their finished work included."

"Terrible work as you can see in the image. This was my 81 year old mother in-law. We tried many times to get the company to come out and repair the work. Now we will need to hire a second company to remove the tile, replace the sheetrock and install new tile. She paid the money up-front."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

It takes about one to three days for a two-person crew to lay 800 to 1,000 square feet of flooring daily. Remember that removal of existing flooring and additional prep work is considered during this time, and it’s likely that you won’t be able to pass through the room easily. In addition, you can expect lots of hammering and other noise from power tools during installation, so it’s best to plan accordingly.

Flooring installation usually takes about one to three days, so it’s a project you can do over a long weekend if you plan to DIY. Keep in mind that for some types of flooring, like hardwood or laminate, you’ll need to let the floor panels sit out of the packaging to acclimate them to their future home. This step will add at least a day to the project time, but it will help minimize the risk of warping due to changes in temperature and humidity.

Tile countertops are a good option for homeowners looking for budget-friendly kitchen solutions. To get the biggest bang for your home improvement dollars, ensure the tile you install is heat- and scratch-resistant.

Ceramic tile can be slightly less expensive than porcelain pavers. You can find outdoor ceramic tile for as little as $1 per square foot, but high-end options tend to cost the same as porcelain.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.
