Can you imagine your steak being served by a dirty rat at Porterhouse Steakhouse? You might snicker at the thought, but there’s nothing funny about rodents taking over your home. How about if you were enjoying a nice picnic at Blue Heron Park when your lunch was picked up and carried away by ants? Even worse, how would you like to wake up to those ants in your home? We wouldn’t want that. That’s why we offer pest control in Moses Lake.

While your gliding down the Columbia River in your kayak or riding the waves on your wind surfer, what do you like to think about? Could it be that cold brew from White Bluff Brewing, or maybe a tasty treat from the Spudnut shop? That certainly hits the spot when you get off the river. What you don’t want to think about is your home being infested by bugs, pests, and other insects. Pointe Pest Control can help you get back to what you like to do without worrying about invaders swarming your family home.

Life is wonderful in the beautiful northwestern climate of Walla Walla. There is always an abundance of produce at the downtown farmers market; we all enjoy the proximity to a stretch of healthy and productive vineyards; and the mild rains leave the downtown awash in a sea of green. And that’s where we come in: at Pointe Pest Control we are committed to eliminating the pest infestation in your home so you can go back to living in paradise on Earth. But that doesn’t mean that you have to simply grin and bear it. Liberty Lake is a beacon of beauty to residents across the Idaho border. Here in this wondrous town we are able to enjoy all of the luxuries of the Spokane Valley, and we all feel a sense of community in our tight-knit neighborhoods. Unfortunately, pests in this area seem to share the same sense of camaraderie, and tend to band together when infesting the walls of your home. But whether they reside on the beautiful MeadowWood Golf Course, within the halls of Liberty Lake Elementary, or deep within the foundation of your house, here at Pointe Pest Control we are dedicated to ridding them from our quaint town so we can all prosper together in our pest-free life.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

You can find anti-rat sprays in most home department stores that may be worth a try. Spray them along fences and in areas where you don’t want rats to go (like around decks) and they may think twice before approaching. For a natural version, you can try a mint spray, since rats generally dislike mint. But even the most effective sprays are unlikely to stop a hungry rat over time.

Although weevils aren’t harmful to humans, it’s best to throw out flour (or any food product) if it contains weevils or other pests. However, if you want to salvage food after finding pests nearby in the pantry, you can freeze it for at least four days. To prevent weevils from returning, make sure to store your food in airtight containers or inside your refrigerator or freezer.

Gophers are ubiquitous in certain areas, and the only way to completely get rid of them is to put down gopher wire two feet below the surface of your soil and vertically along the edges of your yard. Unfortunately, this may not be a practical solution unless you’re completely redoing your yard or installing an aboveground garden. Alternatively, you may consider putting underground rock barriers around the edge of your yard to discourage gopher visits. However, you’ll still likely get some pests because they can dig as deep as 6 feet below the surface.

There’s no easy way to calm down swarming wasps, especially if they are already agitated. Stay far away and wait for them to settle down to avoid injury. If you’re attempting to DIY kill a very small wasp nest, wait until night to apply wasp spray, as they are calmest and most docile when it’s dark.

Common house roaches, typically American cockroaches or Periplaneta americana, usually live for around one year. The male American cockroaches survive for about one year, although the females may live up to 700 days. That’s because the reproductive cycle alone can last around 600 days for this type of cockroach.
