"Nice and Clean did an excellent job of cleaning our town home. Carlos, the owner, came personally to do an initial assessment and estimate. He was professional and clear in his explanation of his prices, scheduling, pricing/payment, etc. His team showed up on time and were very thorough and efficient. Our house looked great, particularly the bathrooms, which needed some extra work. We are using them for regularly cleanings and the experience so far has been the same. Carlos is exceptionally responsive and willing to work with our specific requests. Highly recommend this company!"

Small jobs welcome

"We requested a deep clean and received a good, though typical, clean. We do not fault the actual cleaners rather difference in opinion as to what a deep clean is. When we say deep clean, we mean cleaning things that are not normally cleaned in a routine cleaning like vents and baseboard and window ledges. But overall, if you’re looking for a good routine cleaning, I would recommend."

"I am a realtor here in northern Virginia. My seller client had already moved out of the area and I became the point of contact for getting her home ready for market. Sparkle Cleaning and Beauty was the company she had used for her regular household cleanings so she suggested I contact them to set up a deep/departure cleaning prior to her home going on the market. I texted the company on a Thursday evening at almost 9pm not expecting a response until the following business day. HOWEVER, Yengy, the owner of the company got back to me that same evening to introduce himself and to explain his company's services. An appointment was set up to meet my time constraints and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Yengy met both his friendly and hardworking crew and me at the house at exactly the scheduled time. I highlighted for him what I needed done and Yengy made sure everything was completed. EVERYTHING DID SPARKLE... He contacted me about 20 minutes prior to job being completed so I could meet him at my client's house. He walked through the home with me and I was thoroughly satisfied with his work. He takes pride in his work and in addition he is a kind and professional person. I highly recommend Sparkle Cleaning and Beauty!"

"From the initial home visit for a quote to completing the house cleaning, the process with Daisy Fresh was super simple, quick, and efficient. The manager, Norma, she did our initial visit and provided us with a quote, and she actually also cleaned our home as well. She and her partner thoroughly addressed all the specific areas of cleaning we had discussed and they were great about letting us know after each floor was completed and requested we inspect while they cleaned other areas of the house and if a throng had been missed, they would go back clean. We couldn’t be more satisfied with Daisy Fresh!"

"I have never seen anyone work harder than Hew! He cleaned two couches, getting out some stubborn stains that previous cleaners didnâ t. He did our air vents too. He even left a high-powered fan at our house to make sure the couches dried properly. Highly recommend!"

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While a biohazard cleanup sounds like a scary process, knowing what to expect can help ease your concerns and set you up for success. It’s good to note that more than one professional might be needed depending on your situation, but that will be determined during the assessment. What you can expect during a home biohazard cleanup is the following:

  • Assessment: The first step in this process is for a biohazard cleanup professional to assess the damage. They create a report that includes the biohazard safety level, the needed damage cleanup, and the time it should take to complete the project.

  • Setup: The cleanup professional prepares the site to prevent cross-contamination and reduce toxicity risk. This process can include tarping and creating decontamination zones.

  • Removal of surface contamination: Any contaminated materials are removed from the area, starting with large materials followed by small ones. The professional can assess any floor-related damage once everything is removed from the site.

  • Salvaging items: The biohazard cleanup professionals assess which items can be saved and which are contaminated beyond the point of saving. Those deemed unsafe will be disposed of immediately.

  • Waste disposal: The next step is carefully disposing of the hazardous waste. Your professional will place the contaminated items in specific containers to keep the contamination from spreading.

  • Disinfection: The house will be disinfected and odor-neutralized. Even more minor details, like light switches and bulbs, will be disinfected so that they do not recontaminate the area in the future.

  • Restoration: Once the decontamination is complete, the last step is to restore the home. This includes repairing the damage to flooring, walls, or even the home's foundation.

You’ll often find mildew and soap scum in the same place, but they are very different substances. Mildew is a substance composed of living fungi, whereas soap scum is primarily an accumulation of mineral deposits. Mildew needs chronic moisture to thrive, while soap scum is unaffected by damp conditions (though it is a residue left behind by the water).

There are different reasons for wanting to wash your floor by hand or using a mop. For deep and thorough cleaning, hand washing allows you to scrub hard-to-reach spots, ensuring the entire floor is pristine. You may want to use this method every other month. Mopping is ideal for weekly maintenance and vast spaces where hand washing is too time-consuming and labor-intensive. Remember, cleaning your floors regularly is better than skipping the task altogether, so use the best method that works for you.

Professionals use high-pressure steam cleaners, brushes, and specialized cleaning solutions for effective results.

The average cost of routine home maintenance is about 1% to 4% of your home’s total value every year. Larger projects like replacing a roof or repairing a foundation may end up costing you more, but it’s a good idea to set aside money for maintenance costs every year so you can keep your home in good shape.
