You can't go wrong with them. I used the text message option to get in contact (that was a great option) with them and within an hour they showed up at the door ready to help with my tree problem. I learned more about trees in 10 mins than I've known my whole life. If you want the best company out there you definitely should use Virginia Tree Specialist. ? If there was a 10 star ? rating I would pick that because that's what they deserve"

With over 15 years of professional tree service experience, we are here to help you with all your tree service needs.

"Consummate professionals! Have used their services previously and i vontinue to be impressed by the sustained, outstanding, and superior work. They always exceed my expectations. Very affordable and goes the extra mile to ensure quality work. We started off with cutting down 2 large pine trees. In the exchange describing the work, I mentioned I wanted the stumps done as well as I had planned on another contractor to construct a retaining wall. I learned in that exchange they also do that work and exactly what I wanted for more than 50% less that the other contractor. We were so impressed by the work that we opted to do the side of the house as well as the tree out front. They also went the extra mile by adding top soul in ball spots in the yard, added top soil to a tree that was stressed out to poor workmanship by another contractor and mulched other areas of my yar that needed it to match the work done with the castle rock around the tree. They have totally elevated the curb appeal of our property. Love the work they do and they never disappoint. I will definately be reaching out to them again!!!!"

We are the last Tree Care Service company you will ever need, as we take great pride in our experience and expertise, focusing on doing the exact job our clients request with a dedication to quality unmatched by our competitors. We offer FREE ESTIMATES for all phases on tree removal trimming tree pruning, stump grinding, and debris/bush/shrub removal projects; just give us a call if you want the job done. EMERGENCY RESPONSE 24/7

"I had multiple large dead ash trees in my back yard, 2 of which were hanging over my septic field which made for a tricky situation since I did not want to damage the pipes in the septic field by bringing heavy equipment or damage from falling tree pieces. Eduardo and team carefully lowered the pieces down with a bungee cord and carried them away via wheel barrel. I also had a dead ash that was entwined in another tree that no one else was willing to climb and just wanted to take it down whole which would damage other trees in it's path. Eduardo and team carefully took it down without damaging any of the branches of the tree it was tangled in. I was impressed! I obtained 5 bids for this job and Eduardo bid the lowest price, and was willing to remove all the debris from the trees (even tiny stick pieces from the branches) and replant the grass in any areas that were damaged. A couple other bidders were annoyed that I cared about my grass not being damaged and that I wanted to charge me extra for it and that did not leave a good impression. Eduardo, the owner, worked for several years for Rappahanock Electric trimming trees around power lines and so his previous experience doing that gave me the extra confidence to hire him. He also had his insurance company send me his insurance certificate with me listed as additional insured on the certificate prior to the job. After he took down the trees, I then asked him to clean up the back path through my property which had cut up trees and logs and branches laying everywhere from the last 20 years. After his team was done it looked so pretty like a piece of the Appalachian trail and now I go for a walk back there every day. I am so pleased with them I will definitely be using them again and highly recommend them to everyone!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

On average, removing a tree costs around $750, but you can expect to pay between $200 to $2,000. Factors that impact the overall cost include the number of trees you’re having removed, their height, the diameter of their trunks, permits needed, and the tree’s accessibility. You’ll pay more if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or dangerous location, like close to power lines.

Answered by Angi Experts

Endorsed by 38 pros

The cost varies depending on a number of factors, including the size of the tree, location, accessibility, whether or not the stump is also being removed, and other environmental factors.

Answered by Elan Flores at Flores Artscape in Los Angeles, CA on 01/07/25

Each tree is different, and costs can vary widely based on factors including tree size, hardness of wood, difficulties caused by location of the tree and proximity to nearby structures and objects, inherent risk involved in specific removals (e.g. rotten sections of trunk), requirements of dealing with municipalities and local governments for tree removal permits, and the methods employed by the tree worker to remove your tree.

A single tree could cost as low as $100 to remove or $10,000 dollars or more depending on these factors. It is also important to keep in mind that many companies have a minimum price to come out and do work or even give quotes.

Answered by John Catalo at Catalo Arbor Care Inc in West Palm Beach, FL on 01/14/125

Removal of trees costs about $1,500 to $3,000, on average.

Answered by Jeremiah Erickson at Chameleon Property Services LLC in Albany, NY on 01/13/25

On average, removing a tree costs around $1,000, but you can expect to pay between $750 and $6,000. Factors that impact the overall cost include the number of trees you’re having removed, their height, the diameter of their trunks, permits needed, and the tree’s accessibility. You’ll pay more if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or dangerous location, like close to power lines.

Answered by Kenny Rosales at Tree Masters of Tennessee in Nashville, TN on 01/13/25

  1. If there are no online reviews, ask them for referrals. If a tree removal company is reputable, you won't be their first client. It's perfectly acceptable to ask for references on your initial call, and if a removal company won't provide referrals, it's time to move on.

  2. Find out what equipment they use. Some types of tree removal equipment are better than others, and a removal company might need special tools to get your particular job done. On your first conversation with a prospective removal company, make sure that you clearly express the nature of the job you want accomplished and receive assurances that the company has the proper equipment.

  3. Consider all of the costs. Always ask for an estimate up-front. Inquire about the job itself and any potential hidden fees that you might not be aware of.

How many years of total service in the industry.

Answered by Daniel Humphrey at Skyview Tree Solutions in Jasper, IN on 01/30/25

To have a fallen tree removed near your home, you can expect to pay between $100 to $500. Your local tree removal professional will most likely just need to cut and remove the tree from your property, but factors like the size of the tree and its trunk diameter impact this cost. In addition, there will be an extra cost to fill in the hole left by the tree, and while you have your tree removal specialist on-site, it might be worth it to have them inspect the other trees in your yard for potential damage. Trees that have fallen onto your home or another structure, will likely be more costly to remove.

Answered by Angi Experts

The minimum cost is $500 to $1,000, as disposal of tree debris is between $200 and $300 per load.

Answered by Jeff Searles at Lakeshore Tree Care in Chanhassen, MN on 01/08/25

Costs can range from $500 up to $2,000, on average. It depends on the size of the tree, the location, accessibility, if there are hazardous conditions surrounding the tree and the environment, and if other work is being done on the property along with fallen tree removal.

Answered by Elan Flores at Flores Artscape in Los Angeles, CA on 01/07/25

It really depends on if it's just lying on the ground or if it fell on a structure. The cost could be anywhere from $500 to $10,000. There's a wide price range because some fallen trees are really easy to remove, while others are very difficult and require a crane.

Answered by Kenneth Kirlin at Carolina Tree Trimmers LLC in Summerville, SC on 01/06/25

You can expect to pay about $1,000 to $4,000 to have a fallen tree removed. Trees that have fallen require more labor to remove than one that's standing.

Answered by Jeremiah Erickson at Chameleon Property Services LLC in Albany, NY on 01/13/25

Budget over $1,500 if you need a tree removed from your yard that’s larger than 80 feet. Large tree removal is a significant project that requires a crane, and the overall price will increase if the tree is close to your house. Typically, smaller trees can cost as low as $8 per foot to remove, while larger trees (over 80 feet) can cost at least $15 per foot.
