I called in July, but they were very busy and didn't come out until August. Their arborist, Sara, told me they could treat the one tree (Flowering Cherry), but we both agreed it would be better in the long run to cut it down. The other tree, a red maple, also needed to come down. We scheduled the tree/stump removal a few weeks later. They came out then and efficiently dealt with both trees. We were very pleased.

Everyone involved acted professionally. They responded quickly and knowledgeably to my request for a quote. The work was scheduled quickly and the workers showed up at the agreed time. I was particularly impressed with their attention to safety. Two people pruned the hedge and removed a couple of small trees and some vines that were growing inside the hedge. The only problem was that they did not prune to the correct height. I only noticed this when they were cleaning up. It turned out that they didn't have a tape measure. I measured the desired height and they marked it and then redid the work. While this took significantly longer, the result was what I wanted. Cleanup was done carefully and I was pleased with the whole process.

We hired SavATree to removal a fallen tree and do some branch trimming. They were able to come when we were not at home and do an estimate and then after we approved they went ahead and did the job. There was a little snag with communication, it rained a few times when they were supposed to come out but we never received a message saying that the person was not coming. Maybe people don't normally leave messages for that since it is kind of assumed you don't do tree work in the rain but it would have been nice to get a voicemail instead of having to call them, find out the person couldn't come, and then reschedule the removal and branch trimming appointment.

We had several trees that needed to be removed. One tree in particular had partially fallen on a neighbor's roof, and electric wires were involved. We were anxious to have this tree removed as soon as possible. We called 3 companies, and chose SavATree. Domenic Bello, an arborist with SavATree, came within a couple of days of our call. He noted the problems, recommended what should be done, and described in detail how SavATree would handle the job. We specifically were concerned about not damaging the neighbor's roof. Within a few days, Domenic returned with his 3-person team led by Wilfredo, the foreman. Domenic made sure they knew what to do. Then Wllfredo and his team worked efficiently to remove several trees. They were respectful of our yard and the neighbor's yard and roof. They worked in a timely manner. All debris was removed. We were pleased with SavATree's work; we highly recommend them.

I gave broad requirments to remove all branches over the house. The company wrote fine details about branches minimizing the clearing of more branches than less. So, they were more interested in babying the trees in my lawn than listening to my requirement to clear all branches over my house forcing me to argue the case. I sign no contract written by a tree hugger tree removal company.

We've been very happy. We're new to them. It was based on a recommendation. They're doing some seeding of our trees, we have a lot of trees. They're taking care of our hemlock and algae. They do a treatment on it to prevent algae from attacking our Hemlock trees. It's a long story. It's complicated. They've done some trimming too for us as well. They have a certified arborist there. That's the key to this whole thing. They have a person who's a certified arborist. They're not just a tree cutting thing. They'll try to diagnose if the tree is dead or alive. They were highly recommended by friends. It's not just to cut a tree down; they really do try to keep the trees alive. I think they've done the tree seeding twice, in the fall and spring. Then, they've done the hemlock once. For the quality, the expertise of the people, this is a certified arborist. She's a young woman, and she's very, very good. She knows a lot. They were on time. We hope to stay on their schedule.

We live in an heavily wooded area. Every once in a while we get big branches come off and stuff like that. It wasn't for a lot of money. They are very responsive. There were two workers, but I can't really remember. The workers were always courteous and professional. The area was left very clean. They always care about trees. They have a full time arborists, at least one that I know of. Gives good advice, and takes care of the trees. They understand. I have an Oak tree that part is dying. Some people say to take it out. They said they come and treat it, periodically. Its in good shape.

All work was performed as agreed. The team did a great job removing the tree from the back yard. It was a Tree of Heaven, somewhere between 40-60 ft. tall and about 4-foot diameter at the base. Initially called SavATree about cleaning out dead wood, but upon assessment we found it had a hole near the roots and had also dropped a large branch that punctured my shed roof. I decided to have it taken out, as it was a large unstable tree next to my house. Turned out to be a good call, as the entire base of the tree was rotted save for a 6-inch ring of healthy wood around the perimeter that was holding up the entire weight of the tree! The removal team showed up on time on the scheduled day and made quick work of the removal and pruning. They cleaned up the area well and there was no damage to my property. Everyone was very courteous and professional, and I would do business with SavATree again in the future.

The provider did the minimum to meet the agreed upon service. The cost was effectively $200 per hour of work. The cleanup after the pruning was haphazard. The professional arborist kept on insisting that Emerald Green Arbivitea have a life span of only 10 years despite the fact that the trees I have in my yard have been living for 20 years+. Further the arborist shook one of the trees so violently that the tree is now almost dead -- thus proving the point that the trees have a short life span!

As far as your arborvitae are concerned, it appears that there was some miscommunication. With arborvitae, especially young trees and those suspected of root rot, it is not uncommon for an arborist to test how firmly rooted the tree is in the ground. In all my years as a professional ISA Certified Arborist, this would be the first time I have heard of a tree declining from such an activity.
