"Basement Project We absolutely love our new basement! I was very nervous when selecting the contractor for this job. I interviewed three contractors for the job, all seem very decent, but what set Best Home apart was Jeff Segovia. He designed the whole layout of our basement (we love it) and oversaw the entire project from beginning to end. The construction crews were very polite and friendly. Best Home did an excellent job and very flexible with many changes I had and they completed the job on time (took 3 months and exactly 1 week)which was amazing. I am actually hiring them again for additional projects. I highly recommend Best Homes!"

"My Kitchen and bath had exceeded my expectations with regards to quality, price , and timeliness of my kitchen project . The PM estimated 2 and half weeks to 3 weeks but it was done in 2 weeks, just before Christmas ! The staff was very friendly and attentive . They listened and understood what I wanted for my dream kitchen . Duncan, presented me with options for my kitchen to meet my budget . Although ,I chose the latter which was to have my dream kitchen and decide not to bend on that. Sam was thorough with all the final walk through and made sure I was happy before leaving my house. Attention to detail was what I appreciated most with the whole process . I felt safe in the sense where my kitchen would not be left unfinished midway . I recommend this company to anyone who is renovating !"

"Awful, awful experience. A true nightmare. They charged tens of thousands of dollars and messed up basically every aspect of our bathroom remodel. Given multiple opportunities to fix their problems, they did not. Extremely sloppy, low quality work. The work on the bathroom was clearly done by someone who has never seen a bathroom or used one, much less built one before. The shower leaks, the tile was so crooked and bumpy it had to be ripped out twice, the radiators were badly reinstalled and dripped water down through the floors into to kitchen below, the walls and ceilings they built are not straight or square, the sink handles immediately fell off, they caused a $1000 plumbing clog and our basement to flood with sewage by flushing construction debris down our toilet. Instead of replacing pipes, they kept the old pipe which we had asked them to replace, and then tried to hide and cover it up. They would also show up unannounced and let themselves into our home on days when they had not told us they would be coming or that we were supposed to expect anyone to be in our house. So on multiple occasions I would hear an unexpected noise and I'd look over and see someone in my house who I had never seen before in my life. And every time we raised an issue to them, they either ghosted us or tried to convince us it was fine and that their work had been done correctly. I have pictures to document all of these issues. I will never let anyone from DMV enter my house again and I will tell everyone I can to never do business with this company. Scammers, liars, incompetent, I hope they go out of business."

"Scott is a reliable and a very knowledgeable contractor. Only with looking at a simple picture, he knew what kind of repair was needed for the leaks on my walls coming from the deck. Scott's team came to my house and fixed the deck leaks in a matter of hours. The professional and very detailed quality work, was accomplished with honesty and timelines. "I am thrilled with the complete master bath remodel and kitchen that Tony & his incredible crew from Manex recently completed in my home. It was a great experience from start to finish. This company truly works as a team, communication channels are all open. Even when a hiccup occurred…they addressed it immediately & moved forward. The crew was professional & positive…really a pleasure to have them in my home. Tony went above & beyond in every aspect including making sure I was not simply satisfied with the work but truly happy. I also want to thank his crew member Jimmy . He did an exceptional job & really kept the work site clean every day. I will absolutely use Manex remodeling again for future projects."

"I would caution all against doing business with Tom Simon of Thomas Martin Custom Remodeling. The job done at my mother's condo in Leesburg, VA was, and remains, problematic. Having paid in excess of $60K for a full remodel, Tom and his son, also named Tom, walked away from the job without completing the final "punch list," as Tom called it (the final list of odds and ends to be completed after a walk-through). More problematically, the job was complete, according to Tom with major issues left unattended. For example, Tom did not do his due diligence in the building prior to ordering appliances; only after installing a front-loading washer/dryer set, did he realize that he could not move plumbing to allow the front-loading doors to opposite each other. When asked to replace the machines, he suggested we move the hoses, which was in strict violation of condo policy. His workmanship is careless, and his principles are dubious. Another example considers the guest bathroom. Once again, Tom did not do his due diligence and ordered a stock bathroom vanity without accounting for the clearance of one set of drawers closest to the door and its framing. As a result, three drawers of this vanity were unable to open. This problem should have been corrected as soon as the cabinet was installed and prior to marble being installed, but instead, Tom allowed the marble to be installed, and then refused to replace the cabinet. As such, he placed plastic rubber bumpers on the door frame that prevented the drawers from hitting the door frame and from opening completely. The drawers did not open and were rendered unusable. He ultimately cut the edges of the drawers off to provide the necessary clearance - and did so in a manner that left the drawers uneven, unfinished, and unpainted. I would also add, he did this without contacting me for approval or consent. As a last example, when my mother asked him to tighten the toilet paper dispenser in her master bath, he removed it completely from the wall, spackled over the holes drilled in the wall, leaving a patch of discolored spackle or paint that does not match her wall - not to mention no toilet dispenser. Again, he did this without my approval or consent. These are only a few of the multiple examples of the poor quality work Tom Simon performed at my mother's condo. The list is extensive and our family is pursuing action against Tom Simon and his company through the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Pending this judgement, we will pursue legal action to remediate these issues and the many, many others that were left behind. Tom Simon is unprofessional, inexpert, uses low quality products (even when specific products are directed), and is unscrupulous in his character and dealings. Do not be fooled by his charming manner and his claims of character as signaled by military service and Christian faith. My 81 year old mother's condo is proof that he is unworthy of future clients' trust and certainly not their hard-earned money. I welcome Tom's commentary to this review and should he be willing to remediate these issues, I would happily change my review."
