They were very friendly and paid great respect to my townhouse and clean up. Even when problems arised with repair to an attached house fixture, they were able to analyze and solve it satisfactory. They explain everything upfront of what is needed to accomplish the work and what to expect when it's completed. I would highly recommended Mike Maintenance for your repair and installation needs."

"We initially hired TruPower to install some electrical outlets and recessed lights in a house we recently bought. The project ballooned into much more than that as we saw other things that needed attention. They painted our entire house interior, removed/replaced ceiling fans, installed undercounter lighting in the kitchen and even replaced our entire electric panel. Obviously, as we continued to add things to the list, we came to trust them and the quality of their work. We have been happy with everything they did. Everything. They are conscientious, skilled, and trustworthy. We would most certainly recommend them, and would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"This was my first time doing a bathroom remodel and everything went smoothly. Mike and his crew were friendly, professional and trustworthy. Mike kept us in the loop with his schedule and plans and there were no surprises. We were very pleased with the quality of their work. They tiled the walls around the bathtub and the bathroom floor as well as the plumbing and electrical work. It looks great! I would highly recommend Mike and plan to use him again for our next bathroom."

"Absolutely the best, most reasonable plumbing service on the Peninsula. We have used his services before, and he always does an outstanding job. Last September, our very picky tenants complained the downstairs toilet was overflowing. Guy discovered the sewer line was full of non-flushable baby wipes. He recommended a high pressure toilet replacement to avoid future problems, as the bathroom is on a slab foundation. He also ran a water line half-way around the entire kitchen to the ice maker, and ensured it was fully operational. Highly recommend this very competent and congenial professional!"

"Everyone was professional, prompt and couteous. However, the inspector didn't have a ladder when he arrived. Apparentlyl I was suposed to tell them they needed to bring a ladder. He offered to come back with a ladder, but upon further questioning, it turns out that unless your attic is finished or has walking boards installed, they can't go up there at all. They just shine the light around and look for signs."

"Mr. Adams was prompt.and professional. He provided advice on how to make follow through on registering my faucet to protect my lifetime guarantee rights as there appeared to be a potential defect in the new Delta faucet he installed. When Home Depot and Delta in essence acknowledged the defective product as shipped and sent a replacement part, he offered to install it at no extra charge! I would happily use him again."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

As a general rule of thumb, clean your fans whenever you tidy up the home. Fans benefit greatly from a light weekly cleaning and a deep cleaning at the start of each season. If it’s been a while since you touched up the fans with oscillating blades, start with the deep cleaning before moving on to the lighter touch-ups. If you’re unsure when to clean fans and other parts of the home, learn how often you should clean your home.

While ceiling fans are built for regular use, running them continuously without breaks can lead to overheating and wear over time. If your fan has a thermal shutoff feature, it may stop running to protect the motor. To extend their lifespan, it’s best to turn fans off when they’re not needed.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.
