"This wall repair and paint job was of the highest quality and done very efficiently by skilled painter. This was a small emergency job and Kris' team jumped in to support quickly. Their painter is the first service provider this year which has actually shown up ON TIME, and went to work immediately. He verified the painting requirements and worked efficiently and cleanly. His performance was of the highest quality AND he completed the job in record time. He also was very neat and he cleaned up the site wonderfully! I would highly recommend Kris' Painting Service and I will definately use their services in the future!

"If you are looking for an expert at a reasonable price, who is professional, polite and does what he says he will do call these folks. A few years ago I had someone else supposedly fix this type of stucco and it didn't last. These folks are excellent and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again in a heart beat!"

"This is the second time I hired Alexander Davis Contracting, but for a completely different project. Rico and his team repaired several long cracks in the corners of three different rooms in our home, and braced and repaired the ceiling of our foyer. They also painted the repaired areas matching them beautifully with 5 various colors. Another excellent job, priced right and completed in one day. Amazing!"

"I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

"This is the second time that I have used Loayes Painting. The first time they repaired a ceiling with water damage. This most recent time, they repaired several drywall nail pops, plastered over the repairs, and painted my upstairs hallway ceiling. They also helped me to discover a leak in my guest room and determine the source of the problem. I look forward to doing business with them again."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

The curing time for stucco typically takes several weeks to fully complete. During the curing process, the stucco undergoes a chemical reaction and gradually hardens. It's important to note that curing is different from drying. While the surface of the stucco may dry relatively quickly within a few hours or days, the curing process continues beneath the surface, strengthening and solidifying the stucco.

It's best to avoid excessive moisture exposure during the curing period, as it can impede the curing process. The exact curing time can vary based on factors such as temperature, humidity, and the specific stucco mixture used.

The Mediterranean style is unique in that it’s designed for homes in hotter climates and to maintain a connection with nature. The building materials include stucco siding, clay roofs, and interior tiling with tall ceilings and open floor plans. These all come together to keep the interior cool. The building materials are all natural and tend to have muted earth tones, and the architecture typically allows for easy, open access to the outdoors through large windows and arched doorways. The decor and architecture can range from simple and functional to opulent, depending on the type of Mediterranean home it is.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.

Tools include trowels, floats, and patching compounds. Professionals use these for precise and durable repairs.

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.
