Support a local minority-owned family business and hire me for any heating, cooling, electrical, or plumbing needs. I guarantee fair pricing, and honest hard work. I have over 20 years of experience in the field in both commercial and residential work. I am a certified HVAC Technician, and have worked as a Building Engineer with some of the top building management companies (Cushman and Wakefield, CBRE). I also worked with George Washington University as an Appliance Technician, the Port of New Orleans as a Plumber/Pipefitter, and with Norwegian Cruise Lines as a Marine Engineer/Motorman. If I can keep a ship floating, I can fix any home repairs you need! I specialize in heating and A/C repairs, but I'm starting out my business and looking for any opportunities to grow my customer network - able and happy to do other home repair jobs like welding, painting, mounting, snow or leaf removal, gutters, decks, drainage, and more! I even just mouse-proofed my house by installing a ridge vent guard and garage seal, and I could help you solve any pest problems too!

"Everyone needs a little Terry's Home Repairs in their life. Our oven digital display snapped off and fell through the opening. I talked to an appliance contractor [before finding Terry's Home Repairs] and he indicated that the whole control board would need to be replaced (at a cost of $430). When I asked him if he could provide a refurbished control board or if he can just resecure the existing display back to the opening, his response was "modifications" is not something he would be willing to do. At this point I began doing some research. I located Mr. Terry on Angi's List and after reading reviews and discussing the problem with him over the phone I decided to move forward. He provided an exact time he would be at the home and showed up right on time (on a separate but related note, I am really sick and tired of the 'four hour window' provided by the larger contractors - I am busy as h*** and do not have time to block off four hours of my day). Upon arrival, Mr. Terry identified the issue and provided a new bracket to secure the oven display. While there, he also fixed the exhaust fan (over the range) and also fixed a dryer vent that was coming apart. His price was fair and his work was good. I will be using him moving forward for 'odds and ends' and random things around the home. I like his background (he worked as a mechanic on a cruise ship and also worked in Alaska on HVAC related projects)."

Thanks so much for taking the time to look into Air Nerds as your last stop in searching for the right HVAC contractor. The owner, James Martin is a 3rd generation HVAC nerd. His father would take him on jobs when he was a kid and tear the work down - making James redo it if it was incorrect. Even in crawl spaces, where no one would see the work. Air Nerds believes in putting ourselves in the shoes of the homeowner who pays the bills. The owner's father taught him the value of honesty and hard work over high-pressure sales and rip-offs. When you choose Air Nerds you can rest assured that our highly skilled team of certified HVAC nerds will enter your home carrying tools and the same principles of business.

"I called James on Monday, he came out, diagnosed and removed the gas valve from my 21 year old furnace. While diagnosing he explained how and why everything worked. He offered to loan me a couple of space heaters for the night. I declined as I had my own. He came back Tuesday with a new valve and I have heat again. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He takes pride in his work. If I have any HVAC issues in the future Air Nerds will be the first place I call."

At Delmarva Aire, Inc. our mission is to always provide quality service at an affordable price. The success of our company begins with the best in class service we provide to our customers. No matter the job, customer satisfaction is always our number one priority! We provide expert heat & AC repair. Give us a call or check out our website for more information.

"Joshua Walker came to my residence on 10/9/23 for my 2nd A/C maintenance service. I have a posted sign stating regardless of vaccination status, masks are required. I have a disabled and very sickly parent who has immune issues that lives in the home and I specifically stated that a face mask is required. Joshua stated he is not wearing a mask because masks do not work. I stated to him that masks do work and if he is here to do a service in my house a mask is required. I also stated that he either wear a mask or he can not come into my home. He refused to wear a mask and walked away and left. He sent me an email stating I will be getting a refund of 112.50 and as of today 10/18/23, I haven’t been issued my refund. I reached out to inquire about my refund and haven’t heard back."

Maryland State Solar provides both solar power systems and energy efficiency solutions for residential and commercials clients. Our installation team has completed almost 4,000 solar installations in Maryland so we have the experience to take care of your home. We set ourselves apart from the competition by designing and installing our systems to look and perform better than our competitors. This means using high efficiency black on black panels with NO white lines, running conduit through your attic instead of across your roof and placing all junction boxes inside your attic so they aren't an eyesore. For examples of what our completed jobs look like please check out our photos uploaded here and compare the photos of our jobs to other companies work you see in your neighborhood. We are proud to deliver this level of quality while keeping our prices very competitive with other companies whose systems don't look or perform as well. For more details on what a system will look like on your home and for a comprehensive quote please contact us today.

"It went well. There were issue with my breaker tripping when the solar panels were initially turned on but they are supportive."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Provide utility bills and clear access to all areas of the home, including the attic and basement.

Keep the unit full but not overloaded, ensure door seals are tight, set correct temperatures, and avoid frequent door openings. Position the appliance away from heat sources for optimal performance.

While installing your new furnace, you should consider hiring a pro to perform a home energy audit . This audit will give you a handy list of any projects you could undertake to improve your home's overall energy efficiency rating, including replacing or sealing windows and insulating the attic. These improvements can help save you money each month in utility costs.

Yes, barndominiums are energy-efficient as long as insulation professionals properly install quality insulation, windows, and doors. Utility bills for barndo living can be up to 50% lower than those for a traditional home.  Make your barndo more energy efficient by working with contractors and HVAC professionals to strategically place windows, doors, and heating/cooling systems.

There are a few ways to reduce your electricity bills if you use window AC units to keep cool. Set the unit temperature at least 1 degree higher than it is currently to reduce costs. Keep the unit clean for it to run efficiently. You may want to hire a window AC specialist near you to inspect the unit once a year and keep it in tip-top shape.
