"Marketing representative Christian Abrigo explained all aspects of the benefits of encapsulation to prevent and remove mold and the associated odors in my large crawl space. He explained the technical procedure for installation. He answered all my questions about the safety of the product and provided a safety data sheet and references. He was a great guy who went beyond the call of duty to make sure all my questions were answered. Chris was knowledgeable, pleasant and enthusiastic. The installation foreman was also very experienced and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions on arrival and used tarps to cover all the flooring. There was no mess in my house and the install was not invasive or infringing on daily activities. There was no residual odor or unpleasantness after completion. My house and the crawl space were neat and tidy after the installation. Most important, the smell of mold was finally gone from the room above the large crawl space. I highly recommend NV Waterproofing and will use them again for waterproofing in my home. Photos can be provided by Chris of my crawl space before and after as well as other projects so I have not provided pictures with this recommendation."

"First of all...try contacting a landscaper in our region in the spring. Impossible. Mike promptly answered my phone calls and texts. He arrived on time for the free estimate of the job which was a more than reasonable bid for repairing some paths and retaining walls with treated lumber. His work showed me Mike is an experienced, inventive craftsman. The paths have never looked better. I highly recommend Mike for any tree work, gardening or landscaping project. He's a pro...knowledgeable, friendly, prompt."

"My garage was settling. The quote for installing 5 foundation Push piers under my garage and a French Drain along the side of my garage was very reasonable. The team that came out, led by Ryan Ohman was professional. courteous and hard-working. They did a great job and followed up quickly on a few comments I had. Cleaned up the site nicely afterward. Would definitely recommend."

"Troy and his crew are great. They repaired my fence, installed a new front porch, and new railings on the side porch. Overall, a great company. I only gave 4.5 stars because I had to reinstall my gutters myself at the end of the job. Other than that, I highly recommend. TWF"

"Lux foundation repair did a wonderful job at my home. I have 4 pipes coming into my home that had deteriorating seals around the pipe. The seals had deteriorated to the point that I had a large plastic box under the pipes so that after every rain I would collect the water that otherwise would have destroyed our finished basement. After small storms, I would collect a couple gallons, after very large storms, I would collect over 8 gallons of water in the box. I spoke to one contractor who suggested excavating the outside of the home. No small task since the pipes enter about 6’ below grade and it would have involved removing several established plants. I was surprised with the estimator from Lux informed me that they could solve the problem from inside the home. I was surprised that the estimator was very confident that he could not only fix the problem, but guarantee that it would fix the problem. The work team arrived on time, quickly did their work and left. When the next storm arrived, I checked the box….no water at all. Was it painless? Yes. Was it worth the money? Yes."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

There are a few ways to make your storm door less drafty. For example, if the bottom of your storm door is letting in air, you can lower the door sweep so there’s a smaller gap between your door and the floor. You can also install weatherstripping or apply caulk around the door frame.

Storm doors provide an additional barrier for your main entryway and offer several features that can help deter intruders. Many models have glass panels, which let you see who’s outside without opening the door, and others come with their own locks, creating an extra layer of security. For the highest level of protection, it’s best to combine storm and security doors, security cameras, and alarm systems.

Homes need solid construction to survive a hurricane, including these parts:

  • A secure foundation at the right elevation for your home’s flood threat level

  • Hurricane straps to secure your home’s foundation

  • Waterproof basement sealant or rubberized sheeting that directs water away from the foundation

  • A strong, well-attached roof that’s firmly secured to the framing

  • Shutters or roll-down window protectors that you can close outside to prevent broken windows

  • A garage door bracing system to keep high winds from caving in or tearing off the door

  • Deadbolts to keep your exterior doors in place against wind pressure and floodwater

There are several types of storm doors, including vinyl-clad, steel-clad, aluminum, and wood-core, and each type has its own benefits. For example, vinyl-clad storm doors are excellent at keeping out water, while steel-clad storm doors hold up well against high winds. There are also multiple styles of storm doors, ranging from full-view (made entirely of glass) to high-view (with just a small glass panel).

The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.
