"Montgomery Shade and awning were wonderful. They made multiple visits and spent time with us to ensure we got the products we needed and the colors we wanted. They had to design and build a custom awning to go over our basement stairwell - results are great. Installation of both the fixed awning and the retractable over our deck was well-done. We couldn't be more pleased - highly recommended."
"I am extremely happy with AJ's service, start to finish. We initially reached out for an estimate at the beginning of 2015. A representative came to our house to explain all the different products as well as pricing and timing. I had reached out to 2 other companies before hand but was not comfortable their high pressure selling. AJ was very patient with us regarding our timing and budget. I received an estimate on the spot and was able to take my time to review and get back to them. We scheduled the work for May and was able to have 7 Windows removed and replaced in only a few hours. We are very impressed with the quick respond time, professionalism and quality of work including cleanup. We plan on using AJ to replace the remaining Windows as well as a sliding glass door in early 2016. "
"Tommy Harper was a referral from our neighbor- he did their deck, fence, and patio last year. During the estimate, He came and gave us many creative design ideas to help formulate our deck, then quoted us the best price for more options than "the other guys". He was prompt and went out of his way to prevent issues from our sensitive HOA and even installed a door which is not in their usual project offering. He also handled the county permitting which was a big timesaver for us. His crew was friendly and very professional. They had great attitudes and were very knowledgable in their trade. Throughout the process, he did quality checks and didnt hesitate to change course if we pointed something out or asked questions. Although he doesnt have the technology for inital computer generated drawings for decks, etc as the other guys did, but he is planning on getting that soon. The professionalism and quality of work showcased by him and his crew, combined with the great value is a win win situation. We would certainly recommend him."
"This is a follow up on a review made previously. H&N was quite upset with our B rating. In their response to our review they indicated that they would contact us and make things right. (that was my interpretation of their response). In my initial review I said that the installation of the windows was unsatisfactory because the trim partially (1/3) covered two electrical outlets and ruined the esthetics of the job. I did not mention that the extensive trim was not finished and we were left with a bare wood surface. H&N did indeed call us and my wife mentioned the lack of a protective polyurethane coat. A man did come out and coated the window trim, unfortunately that coat dried leaving a very rough coat with excess polyurethane in the 4 decorative grooves of the trim. While we alerted H&N of this, the problem was not really acknowledged or remedied. I did a lot of research on how polyurethane needs to be correctly applied and it is a long and tedious process of applying 4 coats of polyurethane wiping excess finish off and then sanding the finish for each coat. I am not a stupid person (as they indicated in a phone call to my wife) I would have paid an additional sum to have the windows finished correctly, but H&N never requested additional payment. Also the overlapping of the trim with the electrical outlets was again ignored. Again, I would have paid extra to move the electrical outlets, but they never requested additional payment. I have bought materials and will finish the windows myself, but I will have to hire someone to move the electrical outlets.
I received a second survey in my e-mail that was not from Angies' list, and I filled it out stating exactly what I said in my Angies review. I don't know who sent me this survey. In response to this review, my wife received a phone call from H&N in which the caller said that only a crazy or stupid person would have filled out the such a survey. My wife was unaware I had received and responded to a second survey so she was very confused. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized at the time and could not respond as I was very sick. I am not writing this review to get H&N to do additional work, in fact they are not welcome in our home and we will pay someone else to complete the job. "
"All Eco was the first company I visited once I made the decision to completely renovate my kitchen. I was immediately impressed by the professional and welcoming staff, the beautiful materials in the showroom, and the environmentally conscious values of the company. Within days they provided a detailed proposal for the renovation, after an on-site visit from Dave. He shared his expertise and suggested changes I could make to improve the design of my kitchen. Dave was understanding and patient as I obtained proposals from several other companies. I appreciated this because this was my first renovation experience. All Eco's estimate turned out to be the middle of the three I obtained and I definitely felt the most comfortable with All Eco so I chose them and I'm so glad I did. The next step was meeting with Ligia, one of the designers. She was ready with a preliminary design on our first meeting. All Eco has great technology and it was very helpful to see 3D images of my kitchen as the design evolved. It took several meetings over a few months for me to make my final design and material decisions. Over that time I never felt any pressure from All Eco, and Ligia and Dave were both completely helpful and supportive. I decided on white shaker cabinets, porcelain flooring, and quartz countertops, all of which I got from All Eco. I wanted a glass subway tile backsplash. All Eco didn't happen to carry the size and color I needed, but they were OK with me obtaining it from another provider. Important to note that All Eco worked with my condo covenants committee to comply with the renovation rules. Dave wrote a detailed letter to them outlining the schedule and scope of work, and provided other documentation requirements. The covenants committee approved my project without a problem. Once work started on my renovation it went quickly and efficiently. The staff who came to work on my condo were hard-working, competent and respectful. They removed part of one wall, put in porcelain flooring, cabinets, countertops, backsplash, lighting, appliances, and electrical. They also painted. They did a wonderful job of cleaning up and I had only minimal construction dust on a few days, but usually none. Dave kept in touch throughout the project and was always patient and kind with my many questions and sometimes need for reassurance. He always demonstrated a professional integrity that I was so pleased to find in a contractor. My finished kitchen is lovely, perfect, and everything I could have wanted. It looks just like I hoped and imagined it would, and it makes me happy every day."
"You'd think it would be easy to buy a screen door. Because of the configuration of my door opening, I contacted 5 companies that couldn't help me. On my 6th try I found Vivid Screens. I had never seen a retractable door. It was George from Vivid Screens who suggested the retractable door. He came out twice to measure, was polite and nice to work with, and did a neat job. I love my retractable screen door. George also solved another problem for me. I was getting such intense sun in my bedroom that I couldn't go in there at times during the day, not to mention air conditioning costs. George suggested tinting my windows (like a windshield). Problem solved. I highly recommend Vivid Screens."
"It took much longer than expected, part of this was due to inclement weather & 2 ft of snow. When installer came he noted that porch was not secure enough to place sunroom on. Owner of company came out to inspect while shoring up was being done.TRS shored up porch. Installer knowledgable and helpful. During demoing & building of stairs, they tripped power to house 3 times, finally they took out old outlet from old porch and used other outside outlet. Projected time to start was 11/14/15 & finish 12/14/15, was not started until mid Dec., and finished 2/25/16. County did not issue permit until Dec. TRS might be a little more realistic about construction times. Built sturdy steps & landing and put in all new electric to sunroom. A few knobs for windows missing which they had to reorder and one screen not set in properly and bugs got in, and cover plate to electric box with wiring to porch was not put on. They did fix after a few calls. When dumpster removed from driveway, it knocked my A/C unit off its base, unit needs to be repositioned we are waiting to see what that will cost. TRS did send out a quality review staffer to go over the whole project when finished, which is rare, so it appears that they really want client feedback. "
"This project could have been the type to cause months of stress and frustration with any other contractor, but Christian and the folks at 5th Gen made sure it didn't. We had the floor of an entire room ripped up because of water damage, including the structure down to the dirt and part of the wall. Their estimate was thorough and their pricing was very fair, especially given the level of service. They were always timely, attentive, and professional, and somehow kept the work space very clean. In the end, the only way to tell any work had been done was that it looked better than before. We're looking forward to working with them on some fun projects in the future, like remodeling."
