"Kamran dd a fantastic job. He reached out to me quickly and had his associate come by to look at the walls I was removing. I received an estimate for the work. Kamran worked extra long on the project to help me utilize the beams that I had pre purchased. I would recommend anyone who need a professional engineer recommendation to use OHI engineering"

"We have been working with Todd Willoughby since early in 2018. We had purchased a piece of land along the Chesapeake Bay and wanted to build a small but thoughtfully designed contemporary garden cottage for our retirement. After speaking with a number of architects we chose Todd and we have been very happy with that decision. Over several months, we worked have closely with him through the several design phases, culminating in a very complete set of construction documents, that we are now using for bidding. Throughout the process, we have found Todd to be personable, smart, perceptive and creative. He has been able to translate our ideas into working drawings that one of the contractors noted was called the most detailed he has ever seen. Todd has captured our vision for an environmentally friendly house with solar and rainwater harvesting. We have met with him many times talk through the many details, choices, and constraints you inevitably face. He has done all the coordination needed with the other specialties the engineers, surveyor, and solar energy firm. Having enjoyed this first part of the collaboration, we are hiring Todd to help us through the bid evaluations and construction admin phases. The best recommendation would be our actual house, but until we get there we can say Todd has done an excellent and professional job getting us this far, and we look forward to working with him through to a completed project."

Customers say: Quality work

"Bill is very creative, thoughtful, and very patient to work with. He and his company are developing blueprints for the renovation of our basement. His company is then going to submit the plans for permitting. He is also helping my wife with the design of our bathroom remodeling. We could not be more satisfied with a companies work."

"I placed a notice on Angi that I desperately needed an architect. I was given a list of 5 companies, however Campbell Architects (CA) contacted me first. As a matter of fact, I do not recall any of the other companies reaching out to me. When I tell you that Johnathan Campbell stepped in and did what I needed him to do which was to draw a PLAT of my property, he also went above and beyond what one would expect someone as busy as him to do. He came in and recognized that in addition to needing a PLAT, I was also having a terrible time getting the work on my property completed because a hostile neighbor continuously contacted the DOB with false statements causing me to incur numerous Stop Work Orders. When I asked Mr. Campbell what his experience was with this sort of thing, he told me and then offered his help. What I found was a very thoughtful, quiet, and professional architect who had seen it all. Not only did he understand the situation with the neighbor, he also understood my plight with the DOB and set about methodically, and very carefully stepping in to argue my case for me. He has the experience, he has the knowledge, he has the patience and he is an established and well known architect in this area, and highly respected at the DOB. It took me six months to get a response from the DOB, but once Mr. Campbell stepped in, it only took one day. My point here is that the magnitude of an individual's professionalism, knowledge and capabilities is reflected in the work product and engagement experience you the homeowner will receive. Here, Mr. Campbell made a WORLD of difference in my life as a homeowner trying to do her best against a system of mostly men who know the system, who can be cavalier and do not really care that we the homeowners have become frustrated with DOB. Mr. Campbell is an ANGEL. If you ever need an architect, he is your guy. He is a no nonsense kind of man who really, really cares about people and understands that most homeowners are "no match" for the DOB machine that controls the movement of homeowners here in the DMV. I am so grateful to Angi for creating a platform where I could find Mr. Campbell. I honestly do not know if I could have survived my nightmare ordeal without his knowledge, strength and capabilities. I now consider him to be a friend. I was shocked that he was willing to help me with the crazy man next door, but he took all of that on. He has made a difference in my mental health and ability to complete the work that I started, which the neighbor constantly stopped. I feel that I got more than an architect when I met Mr. Campbell. When people tell me they need an architect I always tell them JOHNATHAN CAMPBELL FROM CAMPBELL ARCHITECTS. This is the best company I have worked with in years. So grateful to have met him."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

In Manassas, address structural engineering projects right away if you notice foundation cracks, shifting walls, water intrusion, or sagging floors—these can worsen quickly, especially with the region’s clay soil and seasonal storms. Less urgent projects, such as routine assessments or minor deck reinforcement, can typically wait up to a year. Always consider local weather patterns, as freeze-thaw cycles may accelerate existing foundation issues.

Helpful?

Structural engineering work in Manassas often impacts HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Foundation repairs can shift plumbing lines, while new supports may require rerouting ductwork or wiring. Homes with septic or well systems might need additional adjustments. Before starting, consult with local professionals to ensure all systems—especially those behind walls or under floors—remain safe and fully functional after the project.

Helpful?

In Manassas, if you spot new cracks, sticking doors or windows, or uneven floors within a year or two of past repairs, it may signal that previous structural engineering work was insufficient. Recurring water intrusion, missing inspection records, or work completed without a licensed VA professional are also warning signs. Any new vibrations or shifting after recent projects should prompt a professional evaluation.

Helpful?

In Manassas, consider scheduling a structural engineering assessment every 15–25 years, or sooner if your home is older, you’re planning renovations, or you’ve experienced severe weather. Spring is ideal for checking foundations due to moisture changes, while fall works well for larger renovations. If you’re buying, selling, or filing an insurance claim, a timely professional evaluation is highly recommended.

Helpful?

After finishing structural engineering work in Manassas, schedule a final inspection and keep all project documentation. Notify your insurance provider about the completed repairs. Over the next six months, monitor for new cracks, uneven settling, or water issues. Confirm that HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems are operating correctly. Maintain drainage and waterproofing, and plan for annual inspections to catch potential problems early.
