"Project turned out excellent. Troy started by producing a detailed design drawing, allowing me to quickly gain approval from my HOA for the modifications. He then began work, identifying areas where previous builders of my deck had cut corners. Troy was able to remediate these issues as part of the project (installing missing flashing between the deck and the house, adding footers). He made several suggestions along the way to ensure excellence in the finished product. He has high standards in his craftsmanship, and it shows."

"Dan gave great advice on choosing the paint finish, got the work done quickly, and was meticulous in jobsite cleanup. I had chosen a few different colors and he also had to match my builder's paint in places. I told him the only problem I had was that his painting looked so much better than the painting my builder did! Highly recommend."

"Sean and his partner Clarenceare very competent craftsmen dedicated to excellence and are like family, having known and worked together much of their professional life, and they higher and manage good speciality contractors. They encountered many challenges in the old construction which they resolved with resourcefulness and completely to our satisfaction. They are friendly and caring. The finished apartment is a work of art and we feel fortunate. In SLW we benefitted from a high-end builder but at an average price. SLW Construction has the high principles, competency, dedication and fair prices of small town businesses of the mid-twentieth century when quality of life was greater."

"The barn doors were not secured, the cattle could move them and get into the area? The side of the barn where a door was removed was replaced with the old wood that was rotten and the work was not done to my satisfaction. Had to pay more to have correctly done."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

A 5x8 trailer can fit a queen-sized bed plus additional items. It is one of the most common sizes for enclosed cargo trailers, open utility trailers, and dump trailers. U-Haul, a national trailer rental company serving most U.S. markets, claims its 5x8 enclosed trailer can tow up to 1,800 pounds.

If you’re building a pole barn in place of a traditional home, lenders usually don’t offer traditional mortgages for these structures. You can also expect higher insulation costs and building permits may not be allowed in your area. Even if you’re just using a pole barn as storage or as a shelter for animals, these structures are less durable than steel buildings and require more maintenance.

There's no simple answer to which is less costly: wood or metal-framed homes. In most cases, metal building components cost more than wooden ones, while entire metal buildings cost less than wooden versions. However, regardless of the exterior framing or structure, each must meet similar building codes. This means that the costs are about the same, even considering that wood will require more maintenance than metal over time.

It’s much less expensive to build a house with wood. This is because wood is relatively inexpensive, strong enough to endure decades or even centuries of weathering and pressure, and is easier to replace if there are issues. The cost of stone houses are incredibly expensive, heavy, time-consuming to build, and difficult to repair.

Whether a prefab home is worth it or not will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Overall, prefab homes tend to cost less than traditional homes, although they also tend to have lower resale values. Another thing to consider is that prefab homes usually last 50 to 60 years or longer, while traditional homes last 50 to 100 years or more.
