This was a wonderful experience and we have already lined up future projects with Mr.Cardinale. His workmanship was superior to any we have ever encountered and his suggestions and ideas were greatly appreciated and used. If something did not look exactly the way he felt was perfect he would re-do it at no extra expense, often when we saw nothing wrong. The communication was always open and he constantly strived and produced quality, finished work. Mr. Cardinale added many finishing touches such as a double facade around the deck and various conveniently located electrical outlets on and under the gazebo. Our deck/gazebo actually would fit perfectly in the Southern Living Magazine! We highly recommend Mr. Cardinale / New Horizon Builders for any outdoor/indoor construction project.

My first experience with New Horizon Builders was several years ago when I contracted to design and build a staircase/deck system. THis was a challenging, difficult, labor -intensive project. This was because it involved an approximately 150 foot steep slope through heavily wooded terrain which abrogated the use of power equipment, so all lumber, tools, materials and digging had to be by hand. Additionally, the exotic decking wood I chose for the project is extremely hard and dense making it more difficult than normal to work with.
The design of the deck was unique and the quality of the work outstanding. The structure was solid and strong. Several visitors commented on it's quality and appearance. More recently, it's strength was tested when a large (trunk diameter more than 2 ft) red oak fell and brought with it a substantially sized beech tree to land on one of the deck portions of the structure. Despite the impact and weight of the trees, the deck, which was approximately 4-8 feet (depending on the hill slope) above the ground at this point did not collapse. Even the crew that I hired to clear the trees off the deck was impressed with its strength and quality. I then hired Mr. Cardinale to repair the damage. It was completed to the same high standards as the original work. Additionally, Mr. Cardinale's credentials were already in my insurance company's database and his cost estimate was accepted without question.
I recommend Ray Cardinale and New Horizon Builders to anyone who wants a competent, seasoned contractor that can be depended on to do a professional, high quality and timely job.
