"I do not have words to describe the rudeness and unprofessionalism I experienced working with Solutions Mechanical & Plumbing. First, the plumber and his apprentice were completely rude and seemed disgruntled by the idea that they had to fix unforeseen (but common) issues with the toilet replacement. They made disparaging comments about our house, even after we told them it was a fix-up job inherited from a deceased parent. They arrived at our homes maskless despite the pandemic and pretended to not be sure if they had masks on hand to wear. It was only after offering them spare masks of our own that they reluctantly put on theirs. After arriving, they sat in our driveway having breakfast before getting to work. The apprentice repeatedly summoned us with commands and was on his phone throughout the process. He also may or may not have smeared gum on the bumper of our car on the way out. Finally, they accidentally broke an expensive glass shelf in our bathroom, took the shelf with them, and then attempted to replace it with a poorly shaped and uneven, very cheap shelf. They refused to replace it with an equivalent shelf. When we contacted the headquarters to complain about this behavior, they provided excuses for the apprentice and the plumber and treated us with absolute disdain and rudeness. They went as far as to claim that "they don't wear masks where they're from" - not sure where they could be from that isn't also legally required to wear masks during a global pandemic. I will never work with them again and I strongly advise you to seek help for your needs elsewhere."

I know of JES since they started in the area but never had any reason to request a free inspection until I wanted to assess the condition of my crawlspace prior to selling the house. I learned so much about the function of a crawlspace and the current condition of mine. His inspection did not reveal any emergent issues with my 25 year old house but he did take the time to show me about encapsulating my crawlspace which will improve insulation properties and keep the area just about maintenance free. Included is a 25 year warranty which is transferable should I sell the house. I completely recommend JES and their inspector Tony Hall. How do you set your well’s pressure tank? All you need to do is first drain the tank of water and find the pressure switch. Remove the switch cover and adjust the switch with a wrench—clockwise to increase water pressure, and counter-clockwise to reduce it. Each complete turn of the nut on the switch should equal 2.5 psi. Once this is done, replace the switch cover. All that’s left is to adjust the pressure of the tank itself using an air compressor and a tire gauge to support the new setting.

Pressure tanks can last anywhere from five to 15 years, but the life span of your tank depends on a few factors. Lower-quality tanks tend to wear out more quickly than high-end options, and the quality of water and the amount of sediment or rocks from your well can cause premature damage. Overworking an undersized pressure tank can also limit its life span.

Another common question is, what pressure should your well tank be set at? The standard rule of thumb is to set your well tank’s pressure at 2 psi below the cut-on point of your pressure switch. So if your well is set up for a high cycle of 40/60 psi, your pressure should be set to 38 psi. If you use a low setting of 30/50 psi, you would set the pressure to 28 psi.

Wells usually replenish at about 5 gallons per minute, but a few variables can influence how quickly they refill. A deep well will take more time to replenish than a shallow well, and any leaks or other damage can slow down the replenishment rate. Other factors, such as a faulty well pump, a clogged well screen, and local geology, can also affect the replenishment rate.
