"The crew that originally came out were very efficient and friendly. They finished almost everything in the time that was stated. The only thing with them that I was concerned with was that they keep asking me what they were supposed to be doing. They knew that they were supposed to doing insulation but didn't have the details. And when i told them that I would have to go back to my paperwork they said that they would call the project manager. On the 3rd day they needed to do one last thing to an outer wall but couldn't do it because it was too cold and they were concerned that if they tried to remove the siding it would crack. They left on a Wednesday telling me that someone would contact me to come back on Saturday to finish the job. Fast forward to Friday, I get a few missed calls and then text messages saying that they had a crew in the area that wanted to come by in 30 mins. I wasn't home but finished up what I was doing to meet them at my house. When they get there they don't even know what the job is that they are supposed to be doing and don't have a ladder tall enough to reach the area. So they decided that they could do the job from the inside and said that they would need to drill a couple holes in my closets to fill the wall with insulation. They were very admit that that the holes would be repaired and the drywall fixed and painted and that someone in the company would call me and a crew would come out to do the drywall repair. So they do their part and leave. After they leave I realize that they put 6 holes in my wall. Not what i was expected but they did a decent job on plugging the hole back up with the piece of drywall that they removed. I waited for someone to call me about fixing the drywall but they didn't call. So after a week of waiting I called the company to ask about it and the mold remediation issue I was having (more on that in a sec). They seemed unaware on the drywall needing to be fixed and said they would send someone out to look at both things. A few days later someone comes out. They were unaware of the drywall repair but were there to look at the mold issue. Now about the mold issue. I will get back to the drywall in a min. So I paid for them to spray something on a strip of mold that we had in our basement and was told that after it has been sprayed that it would like nothing was ever there. Well after them spraying it twice it still looked awful. The wood looked but as black as before they came. So when these guys came to look at it they said that there was definitely no mold there. the problem was with my wood. So much for it looking like nothing was there. Now i have to hire someone else to sandblast it or something. So after these guys looked at the basement they said that they would look at the drywall. They look at it and are like "oh, i don't think we have the materials on our truck to fix this but I will take a look". They did have the materials and would tape it and mud it but weren't really experienced in drywall repairs but they knew enough to do the job. I should have stopped them right there but I thought it would be okay. Well once the mud dried I could tell what an awful job they had done. I will have to either try to fix it myself or hire someone to do it. And I probably should have called them back again but I am really tired of them sending me people that don't know what the job is before they get to my house and are not prepared. Only getting a C because the first crew was decent."

"The team arrived slightly early to be well prepared to start the job on time. As they began they laid down protective barriers to keep the home clean. While in the attic they blew in the insulation with an even consistent barrier, ensuring that all locations with infrastructure were well covered. As they wrapped up the job, they cleaned behind them as they closed up the attic, removed the floor coverings and were on their way. The only way I can tell they were here is that the heat runs less in the winter and the air conditioning runs less in the summer. "The installation went very well. The company sent a very articulate and extremely knowledgeable representative (Brian) to scope out the work prior to the scheduled installation. The flow of the conversation put me immediately at ease since the work was being done in my newly built home. Brian informed me up front that the work may result in an extra cut or two in the drywall which would result in additional cost to repair (not good news at all, but at least he told me up front!). Brian then took the time to explore various options with me (as I was looking to avoid extra cuts and extra costs) and we came up with a solution that was free of extra cuts and extra cost.
When the two technicians came out a week or so later, they were prompt, professional and took the time to ensure I understood what was to be done and how. The company was 3 for 3 in sending men who were kind enough to indulge my questions. The two gentleman were just as considerate as Brian and it was extremely cool being informed by the two installers with the same conversational flow and consideration as Brian. It seemed important to all 3 representatives that I clearly understood and was in agreement with the work to be done. So very awesome!!!
In addition to the technicians, the women in the office were kind, funny, and professional. Service matters to the folk at Walls Electrical. I would use them again in a minute!!!"

"The overall experience was exceptional. Luis meet with my wife and I and did a walk thru of the property and provided us with an estimate within an hour of the walk-thru. "We are very pleased with the result, the success of which is attributable to the following:

1) Willingness to go beyond. For example,
-Robert was the only bidder to offer a color consultation, which proved to be invaluable in the end  (see below)
-I returned home one day to find Robert and crew fixing a drywall patch that had been applied years prior, even though it was out of the scope of our agreement; he told me he couldn't bring himself to just paint over it without properly fixing it first
2) Experience.  Before our color consultation, we had a general idea of the color scheme we wanted for the house.  Thanks to Robert's experience, we were able to avoid making some disastrous color choices given that we had no idea how much seemingly minor differences in color shading could affect the final product.  Without Robert's input, there is no telling what our house would look like today.  I should also note that we reviewed our final color choices with 3 different interior designers, who all agreed that we have 'impeccable taste.'  (A complement we shamelessly accepted even though Robert was the catalyst)
3) Straightforwardness. Robert acted with our best interest in mind.  For example, although we selected a particular name brand paint, he suggested we use a more cost-effective (yet equal quality) brand for certain ceilings that did not require a unique color, even though doing so would add to his workload as he now had to deal with 2 suppliers
4) Work Ethic. Robert was the only bidder who actually paints in addition to managing his business; managers of the competing bidders would not actually be onsite, which made us wary of quality control. 

Before Robert's involvement, we only thought of painting as a means to refresh the house.  In fact, our house has been transformed, and we have Robert and Competitive Painters to thank.

Some of the areas for improvement include:
1) Estimate of paint - Robert overestimated on the number of gallons of paint required for the job, costing us hundreds of dollars in wasted money.
2) Quality control - Although Robert was on-site daily, he did not perform high quality control as we had expected.  His own personal work is great; however, some of his crew made a lot of paint drips, missed spots, were not careful when taking off and putting back blinds and closet racks, spilled food, etc.
3) Attention to detail - When the drywall repair was done, they forgot to paint several spots leaving white spots on some walls."

"This is the third time I hired Shalom Home Solution for a painting job----I just used their service a few days a go to pain the house I was moving into. I hired them to paint the house I was putting on the market for sale. This is a singe family house with about 2750 sqft of living space. The painting includes all interior drywall surface, window and door frames and baseboards. Again, the crew did a very good job in painting the interior and making minor drywall repairs along the way. Window treatment were taken down and put back without problem. The house was cleaned up afterwards. When I pointed out a few areas where the painters missed, Amilcar personally finished them himself.
