"I was surprised at how much work it takes to remove old original doors and install new ones. Robbie did an excellent job of detailing what he needed to do to reframe the doorways to fit the new doors to make a solid and tight close. He also painted the doors. Now that it is complete, it makes our garage look pretty - - imagine that! Robbie also installed a new toilet and determined cause of leak for the old one after having two other plumbing companies come out and be unable to resolve the issue over the last 5 years, leading us to not use the toilet. 24 hours later, no leaking and we have a working toilet. He beat the quotes we got from other contractors, stayed in communication, and showed up on time; a rarity in the world of contractors. Thank you!"

"We booked Mr. Fernando and his nephew and they were very courteous and professional with the repairs. They even cleaned up after the job was done. Our dining room ceiling is beautiful and better looking than before. We would definitely hire him again for future projects. Thank you from the Prices."

Customers say: Quality work

"OUTSTANDING! Cannot recommend any higher! Great job from start to finish . Repaired three fence gates in preparation for pool opening May 1. Very professional. Provided prompt response to bid request. Gave estimate, said he could take care of the following week. Gave $500 deposit and he came back when he said he would and took half day to do the work. The repaired gates operate better than when the fence was originally built: I guarantee it. He said I owed him $650.00. He and his associate got $750.00 cash from me and I’m not sure the $100.00 “top” was enough. But, that’s all the cash I had. Hire this guy. If he says he can do it: he can do it. P.S. Miguel, your DeWalt battery charger is still on my front porch….."

"Very very pleased with Mr. Handyman. Had a section of exterior trim that had come loose in the high winds we experienced recently. It was banging on the side of my house and was threatening to do additional damage. After calling, emailing, etc., several other handyman services (and getting no response) I discovered that I had saved Mr. Handyman URL on my laptop at work. Gave them a call and arranged to perform the repair a couple hours later. Arriving home 15 minutes before the agreed upon time, Duane was already there. He repaired the trim in less than 30 minutes. Very professional. Straightened up after completion. I will definitely use again!"

"Micah was timely, polite and efficient. One electrical fixture was difficult, and he persevered until he got it! Did multiple small projects such as hanging lamps, light fixtures, and towel bars. Would certainly hire him again."

"We had some front porch exterior trim repaired using PVC and two interior ceilings painted. The projects went great. Abe, Sam and Brandon were great to work with. Their prices were fair and they did quality work. Very nice guys too. I would highly recommend them and I will use them again if I have any similar work to get done."

"It went great they arrived on time. They removed my carpet in less than an hour. Mr. Barett worked with when it came to getting additional supplies and still was able to complete the job before lunch time. Cleaned up after the job and was very professional. I will be recommending them to others.

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Handle basic pool and spa service tasks like cleaning skimmer baskets and cartridge filters during the heavy Virginia pollen season. Test and adjust your water chemistry to manage seasonal fluctuations and prevent algae. After coastal storms, clear large debris and run your filtration system, provided flooding has not reached electrical components. Always leave structural repairs, plumbing modifications, and complex electrical work to a licensed contractor.

Helpful?

Build a seasonal routine for your pool construction and installation by inspecting the shell and decking for winter freeze damage every spring. During the summer, test your water chemistry weekly to combat high humidity. In the fall, clear all storm debris and secure a durable cover to withstand powerful coastal winds. Throughout the winter in VA, monitor drainage areas to ensure heavy rainfall flows away from the pool structure.

Helpful?

For in-ground pool construction and installation, concrete or fiberglass shells work best to resist hydrostatic pressure from the high water table in Chesapeake. Choose concrete pavers or brushed concrete for decking, and avoid wood entirely due to severe termite and moisture risks. Select aluminum or vinyl safety fencing to prevent salt corrosion. Finally, install equipment with corrosion-resistant housings to withstand the coastal humidity and protect your investment.

Helpful?

Schedule pool and spa service before spring temperatures reach 60 degrees to prevent rapid algae growth. Heavy pine and oak pollen in the spring easily clogs filters, making this an ideal time for maintenance. You should also request an inspection immediately following any tropical storms or hurricanes in VA to address debris and equipment stress. Finally, book your winterization before the first frost arrives in late November.

Helpful?

Planning pool construction and installation requires navigating specific local conditions. A high water table and expansive clay soils in Chesapeake demand specialized excavation techniques, like installing hydrostatic pressure relief valves to prevent structural shifting. You must secure proper building permits and verify your property’s flood zone status. Additionally, install a compliant safety fence of at least 48 inches with self-closing gates, and always contact utility locators before any digging begins.
