"They came out and were very professional did an excellent job. One of their pieces of equipment broke down on them in the middle of the job. They came back the next day with a rental in the rain to finish up. I donâ t believe most companies would have done that. Great group of guys working for them. Would strongly recommend them for more tree work to my family and friends."

"Blake removed a large sawtooth oak from a backyard trimmed another in the backyard and trimmed a large sawtooth oak in the front yard. Stump grinding on the large sawtooth oak in the back. All of the projects were completed in one day at a very reasonable price. I will definitely be hiring him for another project later on this year. He comes highly recommended."

"These guys are true professionals who should be among the first on your call list for tree removal and stump grinding. They felled 2 troublesome trees on my property, beating the best price I got from 5 other services by over $700. They came within a week to fell the trees and a week later to grind the stumps. More importantly, is their integrity. When my neighbor requested a quote, they were honest enough to tell him that they did not feel comfortable doing the job (which was a dead tree that spanned over 2 homes) turning their back on a very lucrative contract. Very respectable and admirable."

"I will recommend I&R Lawncare. I am still using I&R Lawn Care through at least September 30. 2023. This was a seasonal hire. Ivy and her staff are punctual, courteous, and reliable. I would not only recommend them to find their rates reasonable for mowing. The services I order are limited by our monthly budget and other expenses. Please consider this matter resolved. I think I might have created some confusion when I asked for estimates. Ivy understands, as does his wife. If there was any question, I believe it was resolved. I spoke to Ivy this morning and told him I had given him a good review. Yes, I would recommend him to others. At this point, the only confusion I feel comes from Pearl on the Chat line. I had no intent to sue them and they had no intent to sue me. I do not understand why Pearl is referring this to a lawyer. I can not speak to my neighbors about their choices. Those are their decisions. I just take care of what I can afford on our budget for our property."

"Thank you for cutting our lawn. Matchless blades did a great job and we appreciate his hard-work. We asked for our grass to be cut short and he did just that. He took his time to make sure everything was done correctly. We look forward to our next lawn cut"

FAQs for arboricultural service projects in Chesapeake, VA

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

On average, removing a tree costs around $750, but you can expect to pay between $200 to $2,000. Factors that impact the overall cost include the number of trees you’re having removed, their height, the diameter of their trunks, permits needed, and the tree’s accessibility. You’ll pay more if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or dangerous location, like close to power lines.

Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:

  • Location

  • Yard size

  • Project size

  • Materials

  • Land preparation

  • Type of landscaping

Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
