"I have 3 massive dogs and up until a few months ago as soon as you opened the back door to the yard, it was nothing but mud from the door to the fence in all directions. And because the dogs need to go out 100 times a day, that mud did not stay outside. It was brought into my master bedroom and stomped into my carpet time and time again. I thought I had gotten it all cleaned up with my carpet cleaner but Kevin proved I have no idea how to clean carpet. He is seriously a pro and his meticulous attention detail is unmatched. Not only did he spend hours working on that one room, he came back the next day to do it again because he just wasn't satisfied with the initial result. I cannot recommend him enough. He is absolutely fantastic and I am actually a little sad to be moving out of state and out of his service zone. If you need your carpets cleaned, call Kevin. You won't find anyone better and you won't be disappointed."

"Floorsbay did a great job - they resurfaced our wood floors and installed carpeting in our basement, stairs and two upstairs bedrooms. They gave us great carpet choices at competitive prices, were very efficient on the resurfacing and carpet installation and the quality of their work is outstanding."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

The costs range from $3 to $10 per square foot, depending on the carpet type, labor, and subfloor preparation.

While it's possible to cover asbestos tile with carpet, it's not recommended. Encapsulating tile beneath carpet doesn't eliminate the health risks. Over time, the asbestos tiles could degrade, releasing fibers into the air and potentially contaminating the carpet. Disturbance during carpet installation or removal might also release fibers.

Carpet density refers to how closely together the fibers of a carpet are stitched into the carpet backing, with values ranging from 1,000 to 7,000. A carpet density value of 3,000 or higher is considered best for most homes, especially in high-traffic areas, such as a living room or dining room. If you’re comparing two carpets made of the same material, a higher carpet density can indicate better durability and longevity. However, carpet density is only one of many factors that can help you determine a carpet’s quality.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

The complexity of installation depends on the type of flooring you choose and the level of expertise required to install it. While some materials, like vinyl or laminate, offer relatively straightforward installation processes suitable for DIY enthusiasts, others, such as natural stone or hardwood, often require professional assistance from a flooring company to ensure proper fitting and longevity.
