Beacon Home Services is a family owned and operated electrical & plumbing contractor. Our experienced plumbers & electricians have been providing superior services to the Northern Virginia Area since 2002. Our Master technicians are fully licensed and have more than enough experience to insure your satisfaction with our services. We have proven our ability to satisfy customers by reinventing the service industry and putting customer service at the top of our list! Customer safety is also very important to Beacon Home Services. That's why all our employees have gone through background checks so you can be sure that you're in good hands with Beacon Home Services.

"I hired Beacon to install an attic fan and route the two exhaust vents from my restrooms outside. With the attic fan, I don't have any complaints. It seems to be working as intended. I cannot say the same for the restroom vents. The tech had to come to my home on three separate days to fix an issue. 1. He had attached the vent pipes in a Y design. Which ended up reducing the fan efficiency and it pushed the steam to the other restroom. It also caused the fan to drip water. 2. He added dampers. Which then blocked the steam from leaving completely. We had to use a dehumidifier to shower. 3. When I finally persuaded then to dedicate a line to each fan. I was charged an additional amount. Unfortunately, my fan STILL drips water. Meaning it was not installed correctly. So, I'm not sure what I as the customer can realistically do but to avoid them. Pictures attached show dripping and the one exhaust port for the two fans. Installed in the eave? Not sure this is code."

We are a septic and sewer tank pumping company. We service, repair, and maintain all types of septic systems, as well as for sale and other required inspections. We also provide commercial grease trap pumping. We are a small family owned company that have had 15 plus years of experience with a reputable company and decided to break out on our own. J & G septic services offers free quotes on your septic and sewer needs, and offers discounts to military, fire, police and rescue members. We accept all major credit cards, cash or checks.

"We had our septic worked on March 21,2025. We were referred to this company by our realtor who used them in previous transactions with the company agreeing to allow payment at time of closing on the house sale. The owner of the company agreed to do the work with payment taken out at the closing of our house on March 31st. Despite this agreement I received an invoice the day of the work completion and a late payment notice two days after. I was told not to pay as there was an agreement to pay at settlement on March 31. Our closing ended up getting pushed back due to our buyer with no fault of our own. This was communicated to the company. On April 9 I was sent an email from Sara stating that they were not a bank and would refer the acct to collections. I asked why they were going back on their agreement to allow us to pay at closing and was told I could talk to their lawyer. I agreed to pay before this and was sent to an invoice link that didn’t work and therefore I couldn’t pay. The next day I received a new invoice for charges that included a lawyer consult and the fee for issuing my husband and I a warrant of debt, despite telling them multiple times we were paying. I called the court system and there was no warrant or legal filings. Sara completely fabricated an invoice in an attempt to get more money out of my family. We paid for this service and I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. I am positive there will be a reply justifying this behavior, however, I think it’s imperative to future consumers that you understand this company has terrible customer service and absolutely no concept of legal contracts and the proper way to request payments. Avoid at all costs."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

A well lasts at least 25 years, after which the natural sediment and minerals in the soil and water can build up and affect the well. Parts of the well, particularly the well pump, tend to wear out faster and require replacement after 15 to 20 years. Once the well reaches the end of its life span, you can hire a pro to seal it before drilling a new well in another location.

There are several signs that your well pump’s pressure switch isn’t working as it should. For instance, if your pump runs continuously, produces weak water pressure, or doesn’t turn on at all, you may have a bad switch. Also, if your water flow is erratic or unpredictable, it could indicate an issue with your pressure switch.

Yes, you can replace a concrete septic tank lid with a plastic riser. A plastic riser will offer easier access to your tank when it’s time for pumping or repairs. However, since concrete is heavy and hard to handle, this is a job best left to the pros and not a DIYer.

The main difference between a mound septic system and a conventional one is that the drain field in a mound system is built up into a mound composed of sand and gravel to increase the filtration time the wastewater sees before it is returned to the aquifer. There’s also a significant cost difference, with mound systems typically costing far more than standard septic systems.

There are many potential causes of low well water pressure. The most common include sediment buildup, leaking pipes, a failing well pump, or a cracked pressure tank.
