"Nearly three years ago, I asked JES to install a waterproofing system around my basement (in 2016). After they did this, there was no further flooding or leaking of ground water into my basement. In addition, the dehumidifier makes the whole house smell fresh."

"I was very happy with the services provided by this company.  Discovered a slow water leak in the basement in the morning, and Roto-Rooter arrived that afternoon to fix it.  The technician, Warren, was friendly, courteous and efficient, and took the time to carefully explain the problem and recommended fix to me.  The administrative staff followed up with a phone call to make sure everything was handled to our satisfaction.  I will definitely call Roto-Rooter in the future and will recommend to my neighbors.

"One of the hardest workers. He is very honest, and goes above and beyond. Highly recommend. He saved us thousands from what another company wanted to charge for unnecessary work. Going on 4years since he finished his waterproofing and mold removal,we have had record rains and no leaks and no mold. Only dry basement on the block."

"I can?t say enough good things about Rozier Pest Control and the incredible service they?ve provided for my home here in South Hill, Virginia. About a decade ago, I was in an emergency situation and they came to the rescue with an encapsulation job that truly saved my house from potential water damage. The level of detail and the quality of their work were impeccable. Fast forward to today, nearly ten years later, the encapsulation still stands strong! I recently got under the house to shut off the water for some shower renovations, and everything remains perfectly clean and well-maintained. The dehumidifier is still running smoothly, which is a testament to the quality of their work. Michael Wallace, the owner-operator, made the experience even better. He was fantastic to work with.. Very professional, reasonable with pricing, and someone you can really trust. I would absolute"

"Overall I am satisfied with the work that was done in my home.
Ben Meffley the Owner of Sky home improvement came to my home and gave me a better estimate than the previous company. I decided to go to a store to pick out the flooring myself and Ben went out of his way to pick it up for me.
He did a fantastic  job installing the floor, and tried to be considerate in cleaning up any mess left behind.
The floors look wonderful, and I couldn't be happier"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

In most climates, contractors recommend closing your crawl space vents in winter. Keeping them shut protects your crawl space from freezing temperatures, pests, and cool breezes that can lead to chilly floors in your home. However, it's often best to speak with a local crawl space team about your specific design and its relationship to the winter season.

Yes, if your crawl space is prone to humidity, a dehumidifier can help keep it dry. For use in a crawl space, you’ll need a high-capacity and high-efficiency dehumidifier with built-in air filtration. It’s also wise to purchase one with a self-draining feature. Otherwise, you’ll need to climb into the crawl space to empty the dehumidifier.

Standing water under your house can threaten its structural integrity. If water pools in your crawl space, it can damage the foundation and the structure above ground, causing wood rot, mold, and other problems. If you have a concrete foundation, standing water under your house can also make your foundation slabs crack.

Preventing water accumulation involves regular inspections, maintaining effective drainage systems, ensuring proper roof maintenance, and taking preventive measures against heavy rainfall or floods.

If you notice standing water under the deck after rainstorms, you may need a drainage system to efficiently move this water. You do not want standing water to rest against your foundation or against support posts for the deck, as this could cause significant structural problems over time. Make sure the area has proper grading, too.
