"Needed a new toilet installed. Was scheduled by another Plumbing company. They never showed up. They had many excuses as to their rescheduling but pushed the project back again. I called Neighborly Plumbing and Travis was very professional and friendly. He had us by the new toilet and scheduled the plumber Mathew to install it. Mathew came on the scheduled time, installed the toilet in less than an hour and he was on his way. So professional and very nice. Canâ t wait for something else to replace so I can call them again."

"Plumber Technician Bryan arrived early, courteous and professional. His plumbing work on dual valve replacement was quick and superb. High marks for cleanliness and efficiency. I will use Salt City Plumbing again solely on Bryan's work. He invoiced appropriately and I felt he was an absolute expert. Made my small issue go away effortlessly :)"

"Ryan & Raiden were the two plumbers that came on time, great personalities, and efficient work. Raiden installed the two valves. $279.00 He did a great job & was very pleasant. Ryan was pitching me the other services you provided & fast talking. He even talked me into also replacing the reducing valve for safety reasons ($309.00) Raiden also installed that valve and did an excellent job. The prices seemed steep even with the Veterans discount, but Raiden's service was impeccable and appreciated."

"UpFront lived up to their name. They came by, I showed them the job, and they said it wasn't a job within their scope. They're plumbers and most of my job was excavation. I appreciated them being straightforward, and they were very friendly."

"Dakota was the name of the plumber. He took one look at the issue we had and he took care of it very professionally. We are very happy with the work he did. Additionally, he had a very mild mannered attitude and his expertise was tops. I will add, too that the cost of the repairs was well below our own personal estimate."

"We hired Cransten back in May to touch up some failing grout in our master shower. The first guy they sent used what turned out to be the wrong grout, and just used gobs of it all over all the tile seams. After the first couple months the grout he'd applied was melting off the walls. Fortunately, Cransten was gracious enough and to schedule a warranty repair even though we were a bit outside the warranty window. The second guy they sent, Andrew Ormesher, did a FANTASTIC job. Andrew was on time and professional and took the time to scrape all the falling grout out, cleaned up every tile seam, and sealed it afterwards. Could not be happier with the end result!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

A single shower consumes an average of over 17 gallons, while brushing your teeth with the water running uses up to four unnecessary gallons. Watering the lawn spreads hundreds of gallons of water across the yard each time. Limiting water usage in these areas can significantly cut down your water bill.

Yes. There are a variety of standard pipe sizes used in plumbing. The main supply line connecting your home to the street is either 3/4 or 1 inch in diameter. Supply lines are 3/4 inch in diameter. Individual components are 1/2 inch in diameter. Meanwhile, your main drainpipe is often 4 inches wide. Most shower and bathtub drains are 2 inches in diameter, most toilet drains are 3 inches in diameter, and most sink drainpipes are 1 1/4 or 1 ½ inches in diameter.

Worn-out rubber washers or O-rings are some of the most common causes of a leaky tub faucet. These small rubber parts create watertight seals within the faucet. However, they can deteriorate over time because of mineral deposits and water pressure. If you have a cartridge-style faucet, a cracked or damaged cartridge can also be the culprit. Regular use of the handles wears down these faucet parts, and they eventually start allowing water to seep through and create a drip.

The hot and cold water hookups are the two pipes at the back of the washing machine. In many homes, independent taps turn on or off and are usually located directly behind the washing machine. If they aren’t there, try looking inside a cupboard or closet. If you plan on unhooking either pipe, make sure the water is shut completely off and have towels nearby, as there’s still water stored in the pipes.

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.
