"Suzanne and John were professional and very helpful--especially with coordinating with the company that did the testing and making suggestions about how to remediate the asbestos. Their crew did a great job removing the plaster with asbestos from an old home that we are going to tear down. They even finished a day early."

"We recently had our basement flood. Cody at Disaster Doctors took such good care of us and our home. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He would explain the mitigation process in detail and keep us in the loop with every surprise that he found or every little piece of good news. They were willing to work with us when we wanted to do some of the work ourselves to save a buck or two. Throughout the whole process we had a ton of questions that were answered with patience and confidence. If it wasn't for the whole basement flooding thing this would have been an all-around pleasant experience. It's unfortunate that good guys like Cody only come around when bad things happen. If something bad happens again I'll definitely give Disaster Doctors a call."

"Brad walked us through the whole process and answered any questions that we had. We had them do some mold remediation in a section of our house and had to pay out of pocket. They help us with the cost to help us not to break the bank and were able to start almost immediately. Chris and miles (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) did a killer job getting everything done and to keep things as clean as possible. Brad made sure to keep in contact with us during the whole process and that we were satisfied with the finished result. Would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them in the future."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Tree sap is not usually dangerous to humans or pets. But some trees do produce dangerous sap. Notably, ash, birch, cedar and similar saps can irritate the skin but aren’t dangerous. Sap from trees like the Brazilwood, Mahogany, Milky Mangrove or well-named Poison Walnut can be corrosive, cause nausea, or trigger those with asthma. But for most backyard trees, protective equipment like a sturdy pair of gloves should be fine.

Noxious weeds can be poisonous or act as an irritant to humans, but not all are directly harmful. However, indirectly, noxious weeds also compete with native species, effectively affecting our local ecosystems of plants, pollinators, and other animals.

No, rubber mulch isn’t toxic and is considered safe to use around pets. However, pets, especially dogs, may try to chew on or eat rubber mulch, which can cause choking. Consider monitoring your pets and their behavior when around this mulch type to see how they respond to it.

The pink mold appears because of the presence of a naturally occurring airborne bacteria called serratia marcescens. When this bacteria lands on a moist surface, it multiplies, creating the pink film. To reduce the ability of this bacteria to multiply, use a bathroom exhaust fan to reduce humidity in the bathroom. Regularly clean the interior of the shower with a disinfectant as well.

Mold can begin to grow in as little as 12 to 24 hours, especially if the room is warm, so drying the area is the first thing you should do after water damage. Because mold and mildew can cause a range of health issues, make sure you clean up any water damage as soon as possible and run blower fans and dehumidifiers for 24 to 72 hours to dry out the room and reduce the risk of mold growth.
