"My house is about 3000 sqft, the foundation sinking unparallelly causing the outside brick, inside drywall cracks, doors, windows, and structure distortion. Level difference at about 8”. I got a few companies to bid the project to fix the foundation issue. Risen Foundation Solutions is my final pickup for the following consideration: 1. They are professional, provide formal evaluation and cost estimate 2. Explain and show confidence that they are able to get the problem fixed by guarantee the level difference within 1”, life time warranty to fix the issue at no any additional cost to the owner. NO ANY OTHER companies made that promise in writing to me 3. The service is excellent throughout the project, and follow up measurement. The project was completed in early December 2020. They did measurement after 3 months in March 2021, as of today September 8, 2021, the level still keeps the same – difference within 1”. They will come to measure again in one year, three years or anytime I ask for. Given the fact that the foundation is still sitting level for 9 months, I believe my review is solid. I am so happy that I hired Risen Foundation Solutions, their work with solid promise, excellent service and the price is competitive. David"

"When I decided to go forward with foundation repair on my house I interviewed five companies and received quotes from all five. I decided to hire Vantage Foundation Repair because the plan Derk Mazurczak presented for placement of support made the most sense and, though the quote wasn't the lowest, I thought it was the best value because Vantage uses steel pilings and offers a transferable 25 year warranty. In addition to the foundation repair, I contracted Vantage to excavate (and refill) a tunnel under the house to gain access for plumbing repair. The quote for the excavation was fair compared to other quotes received. All work was done on schedule. Derk was professional, personable and communications were always prompt within reason. He always took time to answer questions and address concerns. The work crew, led my Calvin, were all polite, hardworking, considerate and removed all personal trash daily. When the projects were finished, the work areas were cleaned beyond my expectations. I'm very pleased with the outcome of both projects. A huge crack that was in an exterior brick wall came back together so well it is hardly noticeable and all of the doors now close as designed. The tunnel allowed sufficient space for the plumber to replace the old cast iron pipes with PVC. Without reservation, I recommend Vantage Foundation Repair to anyone that has need of their services. "These guys are the best!!!!! They knew exactly how to level my home the right way and the proper way. I wished I had called them earlier. Don't get ripped off by going with some other company. I threw away a lot of money going with 2 other companies in the last 6 years. One of them just last summer and they didn't fix anything right. 1st Choice did it all correct!!! I am so pleased. They follow up and even came back to take care of a door issue and had to replace a beam and adjust a couple piers and the owner said he would take care of it at his expense. Super nice guy and knowledgeable. Thank you so much!!!"

"When you need foundation work done check for these things: - prior foundation work done on your house - ask the representative who comes in and takes the level readings how far off level is your foundation. When the representative came and took the readings on our house, he did not say how off level it was. All he said was the house was leaning bad on the right side. When the foundation team came to install the piers, I found out that the house was off level by 1/2 inch (ca. 5 cm)! I paid almost $13,000 to have the right side of the house lifted 1/4 inch (ca. 10 cm). And then come to find out when the foundation crew started digging, previous foundation work had already been done! - read, reread and reread the contract before you sign it! Ask any question no matter how stupid you may think it is! - make sure you have a 4-inch sewer clean out so a plumber hired by the foundation company can come in and do a PRE and post hydrostatic test. Any water leaks in your plumbing will void the contract! All plumbing issues are the homeowners financial responsibility to repair!"

"We had a great experience with this foundation company. They raised our house and did an excellent job from start to finish. He was respectful, honest, and always on time. The work was done quickly, and I never once felt like I was being ripped off, which really gave us peace of mind. They also went above and beyond by cleaning up after themselves and replanting the plants they had to remove. Everything was left neat and taken care of. I highly recommend them to anyone needing foundation work."

"Joe Valdez of Windmill Heritage Contracting personalized the remodeling services I needed so that I did not have to move out, although the work was throughout the house. It included removal of ceiling texture in eight rooms and painting two bedrooms (walls and trim). They reworked kitchen cabinets and replaced countertops in both the kitchen and two baths, adding and replacing both indirect and decorative lighting fixtures. The workers were polite and careful with moving/protecting my furnishings and flexible in the timing of the work when personal issues came up. Joe went to what seemed like extra efforts to save costs on some things, keeping the overall budget quite reasonable. Overall, it was like working with family!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

The timeframe is generally a few hours, allowing for immediate use post-hydration, ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding activities.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Mudjacking restores level surfaces, prevents further damage, and is more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
