"It was great working with Juan Reyna. He responded quickly to my request on Angie's List for a quote and when scheduling the job. The installation went well and he submitted the CPS rebate application for me immediately. I highly recommend this company."

"Al was very quick to give an estimate and schedule the job. He and an employee cleaned our A/C vents, all vent covers, and the dryer vent. He pointed out that the dryer was on the wrong side in the laundry room and offered to move it, which we did. He also installed a dryer exhaust cover on the exterior of the home to prevent animals entering. He and his employee swept up after themselves, but there was still some dust from the job that we needed to clean up after they left. Al and his employee were both very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend them."

"Jose was wonderful to work with, I would highly recommend him and his crew. Very responsible, reliable and professional. We got three bids for our siding install and he was comparably priced and used higher quality materials. After the siding was installed, we had a couple of minor issues and Igor was quick to get his crew out here to resolve the problem. We are very happy with the service we received and we wouldn't hesitate to call on Ideal Siding for future projects."

"After examination it was determined it could not be fixed and it was recommended it be replaced. Arrangements were made and a metal ladder (wooden no longer available) was installed. It was framed and painted. The door was also painted. The installer also installed some molding around the opening to keep out cold air.*****"

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.
