"Their arrival was going to be delayed by about 30 minutes and he called as soon as he knew that. His new expected arrival time was precise. Kenny initially bid high telling me that if the rooms were smaller he would adjust the price onsite. When they arrived and saw the square footage he immediately reduced the price. They were extremely professional. Some dents in the carpet from heavy furniture would take some work to remove and since it would be labor intensive he told me what I could do myself, saving his labor costs. 22 year old carpet now looks awesome!"

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, laundry detergent can both stain and potentially damage a carpet. If spilled, especially if it's a brightly colored liquid, it can leave a vibrant stain. While a single small spill is unlikely to ruin the carpet, regular exposure is not recommended. Over time, laundry detergent can leave a residue, negatively affect the carpet's appearance, and even break down its fibers.

Yes, some carpet stains can be permanent. Stains that have been sitting for a long time (weeks, months, or years) are much harder to remove because they have had time to dry and set. Other types that may be permanent include oil-based stains and dye stains. While some cleaners can help, they can also risk dyeing or permanently changing the carpet's color. If you have an old stain and are unsure of the cause, it's best to call a carpet cleaning professional. If DIY methods and professional cleaning fail, you may need to replace that section of carpet or learn to live with the stain.

No, you won’t be able to deep clean a couch without an upholstery cleaning machine, although it’s certainly possible to keep up with everyday furniture cleaning. The water extraction process is what allows the fibers of the upholstery to be thoroughly cleaned, which is something you can’t achieve by surface cleaning alone. If you don’t have a machine, you may find that professional upholstery cleaning is worth the cost.

You can use chlorine bleach to lighten a colored carpet or clean a white carpet. Bleach will naturally lighten your carpet no matter its color; however, there’s no guarantee the color will be even throughout the carpeting.

If you decide to lighten your carpet with bleach, apply it using a carpet cleaner to provide a more even application. After applying it, be sure to suction it out from the carpet fibers and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

There aren’t health dangers to sleeping in a room where the carpet was just cleaned. In some cases, strong-scented detergents may trigger allergies in sensitive people, but otherwise there’s not much to worry about.

A greater concern is walking across damp carpet, which is undesirable. To air out the room and help the carpet dry, it’s a good idea to stay off the floors for about 24 hours if possible. If you’re cleaning carpets in the bedroom, you may want to make alternative sleeping plans.
