Customers say: True professional

"Crosstown came to inspect and validate the foundation work that we had done. They arrived on time and were very thorough in checking the levels on every part of our home. He answered questions that we had that were not even about the project he was checking. The guy was very personable and nice to our dog :) while he took measurements. We had a nice conversation at the end and I recommend highly choosing Crosstown for any needs you have!"

"When Greg arrived to review the project, he was very clear that they may not be able to lift my driveway where it met the street curb if it was dowelled into the street concrete. But I insisted they try it anyway. Sure enough he was correct, but we did get some improvement further up the driveway. The front walkway was a terrible tripping hazard due to tree roots and Southern Concrete Raising lifted and leveled the sections perfectly level and smooth. The crew was on time, professional, and thoroughly cleaned up work sites. Well done!"

"Each time Du-West has come out and said I needed thousands of dollars of work.  I did not call Du-West on the first house the buyers agent did, I called on this house as we have a warranty with them.    Ty has come both times and reassured has disagreed both times with Du-West and gave solid advice to have a structural engineer come out.  I have both times and each time the structural engineer has sided with Ty.  He is prompt, fair, and very professional and if we ever really end up having slab problems he will be the guy we call as above all he is honest."

"Ruben came over used an electronic lever inside the house to determine the low spots in and around the house. Drew a layout of then house. He then explained where the house was low, showed the areas of Load bearing walls. Then proceeded to show how many piers are needed. Also I was concerned about voids underneath the foundation. Ruben explained that when the house was leveled they would check for voids and sure enough I had some. Ruben’s men are very professional. Very considerate with plants. 16 men in one day lifted our 2000 sq home. They had to break existing concrete foundations about 12 spots to put down piers. About every six feet. Then in unison they would hydraulically lift the house. Then installed one foot piers until they hit solid pressure. They use a pressure gauge to determine the desired depth. In our case most piers went down 16 to 18 feet. Impressive. We had voids underneath the garage area. They pumped in 7 yards of a cement stabilized slurry. Sad I can’t type anym"

"We had an issue with the foundation of our home moving. Due to the freeze of 2021 and the rains that followed the soil between the homeâ s foundation beams and the bed rock began to shift. We noticed cracks in our ceiling and the garage floor. We contacted various contractors but quickly settled with Hercules Foundation. Allen Alexander of Hercules Foundation came to our house, measured the distances from level, assessed the damage and proposed the work needed to be performed and the timing. Hercules Foundation would be responsible for all permits required and obtain markings of the utility lines and finally the inspection and approval of the City Engineers. The price quoted was competitive. The work comes with a Life Time Warranty and is transferrable in the event we would sell our home. The work compromised included installing 18 piers, around the areas of the house that required leveling, the digging of the holes, removal of river rock and flagstone in parts of the back yard. The time quoted for completion was three (3) days. Considering the amount of work required I found this to be somewhat optimistic. The team that completed the work was managed by Michael Sanchez. I have rarely experienced a team that was so professional, safety consciousness, patient with our constant questioning, punctual, trust in each other and the work they were doing, and the way they performed the work as a team. It is a team that is loyal to each our and Hercules Foundation. Michael Sanchezâ s son is being deployed to The Ukraine. God bless him and all US Service men and women. When reviewing the work performed another amazing observation was that it looked clean and as if nothing was done."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Concrete leveling can last anywhere from five to 10 years or more, and in some cases, it can be a permanent solution. The longevity depends on the method used and whether the underlying cause of the sinking is addressed. For example, mudjacking typically lasts five to 10 years, while polyjacking can last for 20 years or more. It's best to consult a professional for an accurate timeline based on your specific situation and any factors that could cause the issue to recur.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.
