Customers say: Quality work

"His supervisor and crew far exceeded our expectations. They did a beautiful job and were very easy to work with. George supervised. I was worried that my crushed marble driveway was being affected but when they finished they left my place in perfect order. Israel was a very kind and hard worker. I was totally pleased!! Highly recommend them. They are very knowledgeable in what they do."

Aaron had a new vision for our entryway and the crew made it exactly like designed. I look out every day and see a beautiful exterior to my home! Thanks Aaron, Zac, and hard working crews. "Loved how my fence turned out. Marvin is a true professional. I highly recommend him to anyone wishing to get a fence installed. The quality of his work is outstanding. I requested for a privacy wooden fence on both sides and a wrought iron fence for the front. I was also getting the driveway repaved at the same time I wanted the fence up. Marvin made it a point to coordinate with the other contractor to ensure the best job was done the first time and neither party had to return a second time because they could have accidentally gotten in one another’s way. Marvin provided follow up communication along the process to ensure that I was informed on why something was or was not occurring. He got the job done! I receive many compliments when people drive by."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

Like all driveway materials, asphalt can crack in the wrong conditions and with age. Many things can cause asphalt to crack, including shifting soil or settling under the foundation. Other common causes are driving oversized vehicles on the asphalt, tree roots, and using rock salt during the snowy season. Proper installation and sealing the driveway every 10 years can help prevent cracks.

Whether you should resurface or replace your asphalt driveway heavily depends on its condition. If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway. But if your driveway has foundational problems and/or severe damage, like large, deep cracks and potholes, then it makes more sense to replace it.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.
