Hired to begin work in 07/23. Modification to installed deck to attach it to a new pergola. Build an ADA approved ramp from pergola to backyard. The quality of their work was good, when you could get them to show up. Our two to three week project is still not complete. Doug consistently blamed Henry ( the site manager) for problems. He no longer returns my communications. Be careful with these people.

I send message but they did not response, I am still waiting for my deck.

Not dependable, not trustful they are not honest. Not reliable, was a poor experience.

We signed agreement with the company to replace an existing deck. We have tried everything to communicate with the company about the start date for the work when the agreed to date passed. The company has not answered our phone calls and the multiple attempts to communicate via text have resulted in a couple of responses stating one of the owners will contact us. The owners do not respond and now, no one is communicating with us. This is not the type of service we expected through a company listed by HomeAdvisor.

I retained this company 29 July 2023 with the understanding they would begin the project in 3 to 4 weeks. They were to replace post supporting a portion of roof. They took over $2000.00 earnest money, left me a contract. Since that datel l have only received text giving every possible excuse, and promises that the work would began next week, week after week after week. I have asked for my money to be returned only to be told the work would be started next week. I hired these guys thru your service. I need your help! I would not refer these guys under any circumstance. I will sue this company if my money isn't returned. I've lost over 90 days to get this job accomplished.

Original Review This company is as unreliable as they come. I hired them to stain my pergola but they stood me up twice, and I had to be the one to reach to ask if they were coming after all. After being stood up twice, I told them I would not be doing business with them. I then received a text stating someone was on the way to my house to begin the project. The contractor arrived and said he was not told that my pergola was pressure treated and would have to return another day. Do not waste your time (literally) with this company. UPDATE :: The owner of the company called asking what they could do to for me to remove my review. He offered to stain my pergola for free but i refused. He was upset because I didnt take him up on his offer and refused to remove my review. He ended the call by threatening to sue me for defamation, even though my review was true. Don t use them at all!! IN RESPONSE TO SP (11/10) Everything I wrote in my review was truthful. You assured me that YOUR crews were going to show up to my house twice, and both times I was stood up! The contractors you scheduled to complete my project told me you never gave them the assignment or my contact info. Also you never gave me the contractors contact information to reach them either. I tried to give you my business but you didnt want it. Going by these reviews, looks like Im not the only customer you disappointed.

Our deck looked beyond saving but Jonathan cleaned, sanded and stained it back to original glory. We asked if they could expedite the job and they did! We received 2 bids, glad we choose American Pride, who was half the other bid. Special thanks to Doug who coordinated the job.

They have been excellent to work with and are coming out to touch up some of the staining work. Perfect and very respectful of our property.

This company did not complete the work they were hired to do correctly. They also never showed up when they were supposed to. Received full payment but did not come back and correct their work. My covered patio leaks and rains right in! No one from company will call me back!

They continuously changed the start date and ended up starting the work over a week after getting the first payment of $2000. I needed the deck and ramp built to accommodate my husband who was in the hospital, so that I could bring him home. They also promised me the job would be done in three days and they would have a three-man team working on it. Well, today is July 12th, I've paid them an additional $3200, and the job still hasn't been completely finished. They barely got the ramp done in time for me to bring my husband home so that he wouldn't die in the hospital. The worst part of it is the work that has been done is shoddy and I'm stuck with it. The material they used was poor quality with a lot of defects that they didn't seem to care about. Not all the boards on the ramp or in any of the framing are screwed in properly, and it's not level from board to board or even from side to side. The rails for the ramp never got completed, and the last I heard from Mr. Mayfield was on June 22nd when he once again gave me excuses for his failure to give me a descent finished job. I feel like I've been robbed.

I want to mention the crew that prepared the slab for the deck and Freddy, who is very good at doing railings.

I can say that I was not looking forward to the disruption that having construction work causes. The teams were professional, polite, and for the most part kept me informed. I really like the end result and happy that I chose this company to do the work.

Very professional from start to finish. Quality of work was top tier and customer service was a priority.

Great contractor that I recommend to anyone. Price was great and the work completed my Miguel exceeded all expectations. The job site was always clean and the professional manner by all was amazing. I will use Great American Decks again!

I would never hire this company again. Many mistakes were made. They desperately need to hire a project manager to oversee all administrative tasks. The contractors who performed the labor were great, but unfortunately report to a company that severely lacks organization. My project was quoted to take 3 business days to complete, it took 20 business days.

They were hired to repair a rotting support beam under my deck, and then made a suggestion for a replacement of a pergola that was rotting out after 16 years. The new pergola looks great with a new product that cuts out UV rays. Though the job was over a period of about a week due to rain, the work was done very satisfactorilyâ ¦ adding to the beauty and serviceability of our deck and hot tub.
