"We were so pleased to find that Brandon works on Saturday and did not charge extra for a weekend call. He was early to arrive and promptly diagnosed our problem which was corrected, and our outlets are back in service for guests this weekend. We highly recommend Switch Electric.

"I highly recommend Thundercolt Electric. Gerardo came out, provided a bid and when I advised I was ready to get started they quickly got started on the project which included recessed lighting, new electrical outlets and switches, changing out electrical outlets and light switches, installing a surge protector for the home, installation of ceiling fans and a ring doorbell. Thunderbolt did an excellent job and I would hire them again for any work I may have and Iâ d recommend them to family and friends."

"Mr. Electric was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with the needs for our business. We needed to update our electrical systems since we kept having outlets go out and power go out in various areas of the office. Mr. Electric was prompt, knowledgeable, and able to resolve all of our issues on their first visit to our office. The prices were reasonable as well, especially considering the amount of work that was done and the level of professionalism they have! I will definitely contact them again with any of our electrical needs."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical projects in Schertz, consider city permit requirements and possible HOA guidelines, especially for outdoor or visible upgrades. The area’s frequent storms make surge protection a wise investment. If you’re adding outdoor living spaces or planning for future expansions, ensure your system can handle increased loads and consider energy-efficient upgrades to take advantage of local utility incentives.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in TX relies on using weather-resistant materials, proper grounding, and copper wiring to withstand local conditions. Ensuring all work meets current codes and is performed by experienced professionals is crucial. Planning for high AC loads, future additions, and scheduling regular maintenance helps your electrical system remain safe and reliable in Schertz’s demanding climate.

Helpful?

In Schertz, signs that electrical work needs redone include visible splices, mismatched outlets, or evidence of non-permitted installations. If you notice aluminum wiring, outdated panels, or frequent breaker trips during high AC use, these are red flags. Outlets lacking proper grounding or exposed to moisture are especially concerning, as they increase the risk of electrical hazards and should be addressed promptly.

Helpful?

Electrical systems in Schertz benefit from annual GFCI outlet testing, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas. Inspect outdoor fixtures and outlets before storm season, and schedule yearly panel inspections to check for dust or corrosion. Replace surge protectors every few years due to frequent lightning, and have HVAC electrical connections checked twice a year to ensure reliable performance during heavy AC use.

Helpful?

If your Schertz home experiences frequent breaker trips, dimming lights when appliances run, or outlets that feel warm or emit unusual odors, it’s time to schedule electrical projects. Homes built before 1980 often need panel upgrades or new GFCI outlets for added safety. Planning to install a pool, EV charger, or major appliance also signals it’s smart to update your electrical system.
